Our little corner of the world. Saturday, July 2, 2011. Just a little something. Seven months since my last post. I'm not entirely convinced that i'm "back" in terms of blogging yet, but as i was brewing some java this morning, my little mug collection made me think of yellow songbird's "around the house". Link up party today and i thought i'd participate. The green and white emma. Well, i'm off to figure out why my computer keeps changing my settings from "U.S." to "Spanish" or "Irish.". Oh, sweet joy!

Single women, part 4: on purpose. It's taken me longer to think about this post because of its delicate nature. Why are we here? There is a different array of answers for each of us, and I don't want to presume that I know why you're here and what your higher calling is in life. All of us are called to glorify God through Jesus Christ in our life. All of us. How we do that, however, is up to us and the freedom we experience in following Jesus. When will you arise from your sleep? In my life, I have found...

He who promises is faithful.: September 2009
http://jamiebauknight.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 19, 2009. We all speak the same language after all. We came upon Nariyo’s goob in Grant and Loki’s Land Rover at dusk – 9-10 people packed in to a 7 seat vehicle (you know, the African way). We parked the van and trekked across the lugga (a dried riverbed) to enter the goob so the Kalacha people could meet Nariyo. A group of wazungu. Can attract quite a crowd, so we decided to move outside the goob to talk to Nariyo; it was quickly decided that the lugga would be the best place to talk.

He who promises is faithful.: April 2010
http://jamiebauknight.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Well, I'm out of shampoo. So it must be time to head home. It's been real swell. We've had our share of differences, yes.like that time that I had dysentery or when I had to watch hunting spiders battle to the death while perched atop a chair yelling in Rendille the only expression I knew to show how much I hated it - "MADOONO! They need just a. Little bit of work. I have the bruises to prove it. Except, I wouldn't trade the last 8 months for anything. We wait for you;. Snorkeled...

Thus, the creation of "famous Fridays" - a quick look at someone famous on a day that is famed for ending the week or beginning the weekend, but rarely for just being itself. They only come once a week. Don't miss them. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Looking for something in particular? There was an error in this gadget. Us in londontown. we travel the world together. http://hebreux.blogspot.com/2010/07/le-retour-au-texas.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Le Retour au Texas. My year in Saint Pourçain sur Sioule has come to a close and I am happily writing this from my parents' couch in Texas. As for the future, I don't know where exactly I'm going, but I'm looking forward to the journey! Thanks to the Lord for all of your thoughts and prayers for me this year. I am blessed to know Him better through you all :). Garde-moi, ô Dieu! Car je cherche en toi mon refuge. Je dis à l'Éternel : Tu es mon Seigneur, Tu es mon souverain bien!

take these chances: 11.10
http://sarahelizabethgriffin.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Not seize tomorrow, or seize the future. I refuse to believe that what I have now is not good enough. I refuse to believe that this day was not ordained, and is not full of His blessings. I refuse to believe that I am not effective with the Gospel. God, make me thankful. Make me aware. Make me ever-ready to do your work.today. I really like birthdays! Unlike my bff Amanda Scott, who hates birthdays.or just hates getting older. Somehow, on my birthday, nothing can go wrong. By The Postal Service. You can'...

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Beauty in the Alps. Life in la belle France has been rather 'vite, vite, vite' lately what with all my trips to Clermont-Ferrand. As an Américaine there are certain documents I must furnish to the French government (birth certificate, multiple copies of my visa/passport) and medical exams I must undergo (chest x-ray for TB) in order to work in this lovely country. I completed the paperwork circus (for the moment) yesterday! The titre de séjour means money in the bank, baby :).
