http://betterchatter.blogspot.com/2009/01/make-em-laugh.html
Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Just wanted to clue you loyal fans in on the new PBS documentary Make Em' Laugh. Which starts tonight at 8pm EST. Their website describes it as "A six-hour comedy epic showcasing the most hilarious men, women, and moments in American entertainment and why they made us laugh." Sounds good to me. TONIGHT'S EPISODE: "Would Ya Hit a Guy with Glasses? Nerds, Jerks, and Oddballs". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe in a reader. Bryans 2008 Music Picks. Books, Booze, Eggs.

indulgence & sin | a historian's craft

A historian's craft. August 31, 2008. I am reading my slow, marvellous way through the Yule-Cordier edition of The Travels of Marco Polo. Armed with Google Maps. And the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica. It is stirring up an insatiable storm of Wanderlust, and so to expiate my guilt at not PhD-ing, I am sharing my vicarious armchair travelling. Marker by annotated marker, I’m filling in a map of Marco Polo’s cities and travels —. You can keep up by subscribing to the map’s RSS. September 1st, 2008 at 3:53 am.

Things that confound me. Enumerated. Sunday, November 12, 2006. No 4 - Overheard. At Il Postale in Sunnyvale last night, I was seated with my brother and a couple of friends in an exterior courtyard, the chill kept down by portable heaters. The conversation at the next table over included something like the following, spoken at high and increasing volume by elderly people who seemed like npr conributors:. We had tickets, but I think we're going to trade them in.". Who else was speaking.". No 4 - Overheard.
