October | 2011 | A Little More Than Organized
https://springcleaner.wordpress.com/2011/10
A Little More Than Organized. 124; Comments RSS. Posted on October 13, 2011. The other day I was talking to Patrick about knowing God’s will for our life and trusting in Him. He was concerned because he had never heard God’s voice telling him what to do. From there we ended up talking about knowing that God will always provide for us. I shared with him something that had happened the previous day. Not only would the money help pay for groceries but also help with other medical bills. I wrote that check t...

A Little More Than Organized. 124; Comments RSS. Following God’s Will For Our Family Isn’t Always Easy. Posted on July 31, 2012. As our anniversary approaches I chuckle to myself remembering how Don and I discussed when we got engaged many how kids we would be open to. Don’s answer was always, “as many as God blesses us with either biologically, by fostering, or by adopting”. Me? I liked numbers. Eight sounded good but hey, so did twelve. Hard to find. Invited to a birthday party? Invited out to dinner?

A Little More Than Organized. 124; Comments RSS. Wishing For a Friend Answered. Posted on September 28, 2011. In July I wrote about Louise and how I wished she had a friend to call her own. You can read that post here. Kirsten. I thought to myself, “wow, not only does the girl look like Kirsten but her name is Kirsten, too! 8221; After the ceremony I asked Kirsten’s mom (while all the girls were talking and eating) where she went to school and who was her teacher. And I should mention there are two other...

A Little More Than Organized. 124; Comments RSS. Adventures in Homeschooling A Child With An ASD. Posted on June 27, 2012. Homeschooling a child not only with Aspergers but also a receptive language delay, an auditory processing disorder (minor though it is), trouble communicating her feelings and concerns (expressive language delay), and a comprehension delay has proven to be quite funny but sad in a way. Sometimes being able to read does not make things easier. Especially when you leave out a word!

A Little More Than Organized. 124; Comments RSS. Summer Achievements and A New Year – Patrick Edition. Posted on August 13, 2011. The summer has flown by but not with many milestones and achievements. This summer Patrick finally mastered tying his shoe. Over the past year he knew how to make the knot but his fingers always got stuck or he pulled the bow too far and the laces came out. Finally, he can do it all on his own. What a relief. This year he has Reading 3, Phonics 3, English 2, Spelling 2, Handwr...

Short and Sweet Recipes
Baking experiments of a short-statured, sweet-toothed health nut. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Oh yes. You read that right. Nutella. And brownies. In the same sentence. In the same recipe. I must admit that I'd never really tried Nutella, though I've heard great things about it, especially from Italian chefs who cook with hazelnuts. Then one day I was scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed and saw one of those short recipe videos start to play: Three-Ingredient Nutella Brownies. I didn't need to be worried.

Short & Sweet Reviews
Tuesday, August 04, 2015. Alice by Christina Henry. Trade Paperback, 304 pages. August 4, 2015 by Ace. I received a review copy from the publisher in exchange for a honest review. In a warren of crumbling buildings and desperate people called the Old City, there stands a hospital with cinderblock walls which echo the screams of the poor souls inside. In the hospital, there is a woman. Her hair, once blond, hangs in tangles down her back. I love Alice in Wonderland, who doesn’t right? If you ever wanted a...

Cakes that speak for themselves. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Construction Themed Birthday Party. March 29, 2013. I love putting together parties. Obviously, there’s the cake, but building the world in which the cake lives? That’s exciting to me. Recently, my son turned 3-years-old. While I wasn’t looking forward to losing my baby boy to yet another year, I was excited to throw another party where I call the shots, pull the strings, and set the budget! I decided to have six activit...

Short & Sweet | Short Stories written by Cheryl A. Donnelly
Short Stories written by Cheryl A. Donnelly. I have been a reader since childhood, choosing to stay inside all summer and read instead of running outside to play. I read E.B. White’s “The Trumpet of the Swan” every summer for many years, just in love with the story and how he told it. Over time, I decided I did not want to have to grade papers and everything else involved in the teaching profession. I got my first “real job” and writing became a hobby that I pursued when the mood struck. October 21, 2013.
