DNA's Digital Diary: Hey, I did a parental thing!
http://dnadigitaldiary.blogspot.com/2014/03/hey-i-did-parental-thing.html
Dolphin's 'N' Amy's Family Blog. Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Hey, I did a parental thing! This is what he told me at dinner today:. Some boys] at school were fighting. I was going to go over and punch them, but instead I counted to my angry number. Then after that, I went and told the recess teacher.". So yay, one less fight in the world because I taught Xander about Angry Numbers. If only I could always remember to use my own Angry Number. April 15, 2014 at 1:01 AM. DNA's Digital Diary: Xander's Fun Birthday Week
http://dnadigitaldiary.blogspot.com/2013/08/xanders-fun-birthday-week.html
Dolphin's 'N' Amy's Family Blog. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Xander's Fun Birthday Week. Xander's birthday was in the middle of the week this year. So, he pretty much had a whole week worth of celebrating. We started off with a birthday donut and a shaggy head of hair. Grandma and Grandpa got Xander a bicycle! Xander requested a rainbow cake. So, all week long, we worked to build a rainbow jello cake. Before his party, Xander got a hair cut. January 5, 2014 at 8:23 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

DNA's Digital Diary: Xander in Kindergarden
http://dnadigitaldiary.blogspot.com/2013/11/xander-in-kindergarden.html
Dolphin's 'N' Amy's Family Blog. Sunday, November 17, 2013. Xander started kindergarden this year at a wonderful school. Things got off to a little of a rough start where he, along with 3 out of the 5 boys in class, got into a fight. Uh-oh! However, since they all learned to respect their space, school has been better, and Xander has perfect behavior marks. Also, Xander now has two friends that he has playdates with. We continue to be surprised how different school is from when we were kids. Xander i...

DNA's Digital Diary: March 2013
http://dnadigitaldiary.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Dolphin's 'N' Amy's Family Blog. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Cherry blossoms are in full bloom this week. We stopped by the University of Washington campus Quad to see a whole arboretum in bloom. The blooms have a faint but nice scent. There were several other scented flours in bloom at the campus that were very intensely beautiful as well. The Quad on campus is lined with the trees. We were not the only folks in town interested in taking pictures by the trees. The Bunny also left some letters for the kids.

Simply Walking on this Earth. Musings on life, love, and family. The Beginning of the End. It started with a few lost ounces and worked its way up to blood tests, special food, and urinalysis. Our Junebug, who is almost 16 years old as far as we can tell, has always been quiet, methodical, and independent, which are usually perfectly lovely qualities in a cat but in the case of failing health, they serve instead to mask symptoms of decline. Today my son is three. 19 months and counting…. Sleeping through...

Rabbits Ate My Homework: October 2010
http://spotsorion.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Rabbits Ate My Homework. Friday, October 29, 2010. It's being a busy fall and I've got about 70 papers to grade in addition to a conference paper to write, lectures to prepare, and all the rest of it. But I ran across this rather clever blog post. By Lydia Sharp at Writers Unboxed. On categorizing writers according to the personality of their working methods. I'll just say that I am definitely the candlestick maker. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Rabbits Ate My Homework: February 2011
http://spotsorion.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Rabbits Ate My Homework. Sunday, February 27, 2011. When on Earth will Sidebar Cafe Get It Right? Neighborhoods such as our downtown historic districts need good cafes. This seems pretty obvious to me- when you have a good cafe, people go and hang out and spend money. Both of the neighborhoods I lived in in Pittsburgh had good cafes- Shadyside had several reasonably good ones along Walnut, and Highland Park had the exceptional Tazza d'Oro. Excellent, but the ambiance was hardly what I had in mind. Now, w...

Rabbits Ate My Homework. Friday, July 15, 2011. End of World Missed By Some. There wasn't all that much news coverage of those Millennial types who thought the world was going to end on May 21," remarked My Sibling the other night. Apparently I didn't notice," said I. Rabbits Ate My Homework: Extraordinary Master and Servant Case
http://spotsorion.blogspot.com/2013/06/extraordinary-master-and-servant-case.html
Rabbits Ate My Homework. Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Extraordinary Master and Servant Case. From time to time I delve into the antics of my ancestors and their kin, as a form of distraction from writing scholarly articles about people I'm not related to, I suppose. This evening I chanced upon the following article in the Dundee Courier,. One of many therein regarding the misadventures of my kinsman the farmer at Fithie. Extraordinary Master and Servant Case, Cross-Swearing. Local news ain't what it used to be.
