My So-Called Life: June 2015
http://bekkieslife.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. The only planning I do is lunches and shopping for the week for the grandkids. I actually write a menu and shop on Sunday. That removes the pressure of trying to think of something every day. At the end of the day, I regroup, drink a little wine on the patio in the company of my sweet pup. The birds come in for one last feeding, and the sun provides a work of art as it sets. And I think things are not so bad and I'm pretty sure I can do it all again tomorrow. Monday, June 1, 2015.

My So-Called Life: May 2014
http://bekkieslife.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 24, 2014. Upstairs Doors and Floors Remodel Finished. The remodel has really been finished for a couple of months, and I did get the rooms put together for the most part, but never took any pictures because of one thing and another in my life at the time. Now might be a good time to show a couple of the changes. Dining room with wood floors. The flooring also extends down the hallway and stairs, and into the TV room. I kept carpet in the other two bedrooms. Sunday, May 18, 2014. Almost noth...

Chats with Charley II: November 2009
http://chatswithcharleyii.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Chats with Charley II. In the beginning there was Y! Friday, November 27, 2009. I hate the holidays. And all through my life this time of year seems to conspire to prove my dislike is correctly placed. They did it again and we are only at the beginning of the season. There is a whole other month to be gotten through. I hate them so much. I hated them before Mom died on Thanksgiving Day and I had the ski accident that changed my entire world on Christmas Eve. And I especially hate that I have to p...And i...

My So-Called Life: Late Summer Yard
http://bekkieslife.blogspot.com/2015/08/late-summer-yard.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. The arch I added for the wisteria in the front has proven to be just what I wanted. It appears in some of the last pictures here. So without further explanation, here's the mid-August yard. Looking very fresh and sprightly for late summer.:) Mine here is pathetic but recent shoulder surgery has kept me out of action. August 18, 2015 at 5:18 PM. Oh, that shoulder surgery is tough. Hope it heals well and you have that mobility again before long. August 19, 2015 at 8:51 AM.

My So-Called Life: March 2015
http://bekkieslife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. I finished my winter indoor projects and am very happy with the results. The rooms feel finished, homey, and welcoming. The new season is upon us. The blooms and the fragrant air can't help but lift our spirits. It's a little chilly for sitting more than a few minutes on the patio today (although it has been in the 70s this month and will be again later this week). But I wanted to grab a picture of the earliest blooms just for perspective as the summer progresses. Much of the ref...

My So-Called Life: November 2014

Friday, November 28, 2014. Thanksgiving 2014 - Going Vegan. Preparing all the food for Thanksgiving is a lot of work, from the planning and shopping, to the prep, cooking and serving. This year my daughter, who is vegetarian, invited some friends, one of whom who is vegan. No problem. I've had a couple of vegetarians for quite a few years now, so I'm already used to either converting dishes to vegetarian or making alternative dishes. The 2014 holidays are officially launched. Once again, switching the li...

Travels with Charley: April 2015
http://charley-travelswithcharley.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Intellectual and political journeys of an eccentric artist living in paradise with lots of creative ideas, and a hundred opinions. Some of which matter. Thursday, April 2, 2015. By NASA has an alarming set of satellite photographs of the ever declining Lake Powell and a great write up. Now at last Mexico is enforcing the treaty which says they should get some of this precious water that has been wasted. And California is talking conservation of water. REALLY? The Monkey Wrench Gang was right. Too bad...

Travels with Charley: December 2012
http://charley-travelswithcharley.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Intellectual and political journeys of an eccentric artist living in paradise with lots of creative ideas, and a hundred opinions. Some of which matter. Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Gun Control Is Not The Solution. Social media has gone crazy since the shooting at Sandy Hook. And all my carefully bared down liberal friends are screaming for gun control. They do not understand why I am opposed. It's complex. You have a right to your own opinion too but I am tired of the meaningless rhetoric and it bothers ...

Travels with Charley: June 2013

Intellectual and political journeys of an eccentric artist living in paradise with lots of creative ideas, and a hundred opinions. Some of which matter. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Why should we mess up the west? Mount Taylor by Dave Arnold. That seems to get lost in this whole argument about Canada and Japan needing our uranium. I cannot post pictures of the forests on the back of Mt. Taylor but I urge everyone that can to do so. Please link in a comment to this blog. Goblins by J. Binford-Bell. Just becau...
