http://cupboardcrafter.blogspot.com/2009/08/matchbook-instructions.html
Friday, 14 August 2009. As requested by Angie, here are the instructions to make a matchbook for your scrapbook pages. The measurements above are the ones I used on my 'Jenni's Rules' layout http:/ cupboardcrafter.blogspot.com/2009/08/jennis-rules.html. Please note that the diagram is not drawn to scale. Cut the rectangle cover (top diagram) 26.9cm x 10cm from cardstock. Cut 5 rectangular pages (bottom diagram) 11.5cm x 9.5cm from cardstock. You can alter the size of the matchbook, but the total number o...

CUPBOARD CRAFTER: A New Start
http://cupboardcrafter.blogspot.com/2012/05/new-start.html
Saturday, 5 May 2012. I know I've not been blogging for many months and there are several personal reasons for that. Mainly, I was finding being online very time-consuming, time I enjoyed, looking at other people's blogs and commenting now and then, but I felt I couldn't keep up and hadn't much to contribute. Because I cannot sit and do nothing, and love to make things, I've taken up knitting again and (would you believe it? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Brighton, East Sussex, United Kingdom. Every...

Glimpsing the past: November 2010
http://glimpsingthepast.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 November 2010. Never to be forgotten. John McKelvie was my mum’s fiancé and her one true love …always in her thoughts till the day she died. At the end of June 1940 Mum was informed that he was missing in action …. from the 17. 8230;she was devastated but did not give up hope over the months that followed, often walking where they walked together and praying for his safe return, imagining him being a prisoner of war. At the end of December the grave news came that he had been killed on the 17.

Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics. The life and loves of a geek girl: comics, crafts and costumes. Saturday, 13 April 2013. That's All She Wrote . For now, anyway. Tomorrow we leave for Belfast to get hitched good and proper. After seemingly endless trips to the mechanic, and quite a bit of money paid out, our car is up and running, which is a relief. Today will be spent packing her, which, for some reason, is the bit I love. It's like tetris with suitcases. I couldn't help it! See you all then!

Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics. The life and loves of a geek girl: comics, crafts and costumes. Sunday, 23 June 2013. In Which I Shamelessly Plug My New Blog. It's been pretty hectic round these parts recently! I haven't done much clothes sewing, because I've been working like a mad thing on items for my Etsy store. I also moved the store blog over from Wordpress (which I could never get to grips with) to the lovely Blogger, and already I'm enjoying it tons more! Which will end tonight. From Sense...

Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics: In Which I Obey The Spirit If Not The Letter
http://ofdroppedstitches.blogspot.com/2013/10/in-which-i-obey-spirit-if-not-letter.html
Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics. The life and loves of a geek girl: comics, crafts and costumes. Tuesday, 15 October 2013. In Which I Obey The Spirit If Not The Letter. I'm not usually one for adjusting patterns too dramatically. I trust completely in the designer, have no faith in my own judgement, and always do what the pattern tells me to. So, a few months back I bought the Gathered Sundress. Muslin in my trusty polka dot cotton, and hated it! And gathered cotton at the tummy? This dress is a pa...

Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics. The life and loves of a geek girl: comics, crafts and costumes. Friday, 9 August 2013. In Which I Put Three Year Old Fabric To Good Use At Last. Once upon a time, I received a shiny new sewing machine for Christmas. Being so green, I decided to buy some cheap fabric to practice on, and so snapped up a 7 metre remnant of surprisingly good quality polka dot cotton for £7.00. Three years later*, and I have used this cotton for everything. I didn't go for any particular...

Of Dropped Stitches and Super Heroics. The life and loves of a geek girl: comics, crafts and costumes. Friday, 12 July 2013. The Wedding Dress Question. Specifically, what to do with my wedding dress now? My first thought was to have it dyed so I could wear it again. It is knee length after all. But where am I realistically going to wear a satin dress, of any colour? If anyone out there has been married, what did you do with your dress? Anyone have any super creative ideas? So all ideas are welcome!

Glimpsing the past: The Ritchie Family circa 1875
http://glimpsingthepast.blogspot.com/2011/04/ritchie-family-circa-1875.html
Tuesday, 19 April 2011. The Ritchie Family circa 1875. This is the earliest photo I have of David and Isabella. I have dated this at 1875 but it might have been as early as 1874, as their 5. Child, James, was brought into the world in 1875. As William is in his mother’s arms, it is hard to see if she is ‘with child’. This is the only photo I have yet to find of Janet and their second son Alexander. 21 April 2011 at 06:50. You have honored it beautifully. Thnks for sharing. Keep smiling and creating.

Glimpsing the past: October 2011
http://glimpsingthepast.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, 1 October 2011. Alexander Ritchie …1868-1914. I was so excited to find another photo of him when he was 20/21years old, the little boy in the picture below whose image I thought had only been captured there. I worked out his age by the three year window that the photographer had had a studio in Edinburgh for. By the time my Nana was nine (1891) it can be seen that Alexander was no longer living in the family home but was a lodger in Carnock. September1868, the third child but second son of Davi...
