(A weekend in) Paris, France | Shrinking Globe
https://shrinkingglobe.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/a-weekend-in-paris-france
A weekend in) Paris, France. Paris needs no introduction it’s a classic city, with enough notable landmarks to make you feel like you sort of know what’s going on. That’s not a bad feeling when you don’t speak the language, and don’t really know what’s going on. This makes actually seeing those notable landmarks quite tricky. My solution for the spring weekend – enjoy the beautiful exteriors of most of them, and pick one or two to go in and see. Getting into Paris is easy enough, with Charles de Gaulle a...
(Most of) Rome in (half) a day – Rome, Italy | Shrinking Globe
https://shrinkingglobe.wordpress.com/2012/04/03/most-of-rome-in-half-a-day-rome-italy
Most of) Rome in (half) a day – Rome, Italy. What do you do when you find yourself in Rome, Italy with only half a day in hand? You book around the ancient city and take in as much as you can of course! This tried (read: tired) and semi-trusted idea came to me when I arrived in Rome at about midday. Checking into the hotel (The Eden) felt tedious, partly because I was excited and in a rush to smash Rome, and partly because it was actually tedious. An easy city to get to, I would book aside a few days for...

Hot Spots | Shrinking Globe
https://shrinkingglobe.wordpress.com/hot-spots
The first Hot Spot on this amazing list has to be St. Moritz! It has everything and a lot more! Few places I have been to compare with this! Check out the article at https:/ shrinkingglobe.wordpress.com/2012/03/27/st-moritz-switzerland/. Or just search it on the home page! Slightly colder than number 1. is Svalbard and the town of longyearbyen. A real arctic adventure awaits! This place will take you way out of your comfort zone, but keep you happy all the same! Or just search it on the home page!
Longyearbyen, Svalbard | Shrinking Globe
https://shrinkingglobe.wordpress.com/2012/04/26/longyearbyen-svalbard
Simply put: the most northerly town in the world. Longyearbyen is a short hop and skip away from the North Pole, ( 400km), and is well within the Arctic Circle. It has a steady population of around 2000 people and 3000 polar bears, making it a rather unique place to visit. Described in a word cold. A daytime high of -10 degrees Celsius would not ruffle any local feathers, however my non-local feathers were well and truly ruffled on the welcoming eight below! The dog sledding is an experience! During the s...

The Shrinking Foodie | Finding me in food and pilates
Finding me in food and pilates. Giving Paleo a shot. Oh, hi. Let’s play catch up. For the past two weeks, I’ve been on a mostly paleo-friendly diet. Read about Paleo here. To start off, Paleo’s not for everyone. I’m not necessarily sure it’s totally for me just yet, but I’m giving it the ol’ college try. I’ve been doing it for the past two weeks and I still have 2 more weeks to go, at which point I’ll reassess my goals. Magical salmon and greens from Arcade Midtown Kitchen. Cherries are in season! Anywho...

Friday, August 7, 2015. Caution: Insanely Moody Person Approaching. I'm writing this blog post because one my boyfriend thought it would be helpful, which I agree with, and two, I want to always be 100 percent honest with all of you. I think he would rather have me sleeping compared to me yesterday though! I wouldn't be able to get through most of my days without such a supportive person by my side and I'm so beyond grateful for him. It is amazing how much one person can change your life, truly. I am goi...

Shrinking and Growing
Thursday, July 31, 2008. New place, new challenges. Well, I'm finally getting pretty settled into my new job and new apartment on the west coast. So far things are going very well. I lost a little bit more weight, but for the most part i'm doing a pretty good job maintaining my weight. Some weeks I gain a little and other I lose a little. Everyone told me during my weight loss that that was the "easy" part and maintaining the loss was the hard part. They were definitely right! Wednesday, May 21, 2008.
the adventures of shrinking girl
The adventures of shrinking girl. The story of a girl who is working her way to wellness by healthy eating and regular exercise. Wednesday, October 06, 2010. Not a usual wednesday wrap-up. The cold I referred to yesterday still haunts me. What's worse is that it hasn't actually developed into a full blown cold, it's just been there, in the background, bothering me whenever I get tired. It's mucking with my stomach too, I think, whatever this bug is. Tuesday, October 05, 2010. Almost a month later. There ...
