Starting in Minsterley this climb is up Callow Lane, and is a surprise - you don't expect this kind of steepness and length so far from the Long Mynd/Stiperstones. There's a tiny rise just to get out of Minsterley and then the proper climbing starts with 6% gradients going up through 10% and a few twists in the road.

Going South out of Hughley you head along open roads directly towards the Wenlock Edge ridge. You can see the hedgerow climbing up towards the left and can see it's going to be quite a climb.
