Mummy, I can cook!: Brussels Sprouts in Oyster Sauce, Gula Granola, and yes it's Christmas
http://www.mummyicancook.com/2014/12/brussels-sprouts-in-oyster-sauce-gula.html
Thursday, 18 December 2014. Brussels Sprouts in Oyster Sauce, Gula Granola, and yes it's Christmas. I am writing this before I get onto a plane headed for L.A., where I'm spending Christmas with the Boy's family. I promise to keep the gloating about Californian sunshine and kale to a minimum while I'm there, but WHEE. I’ve always wanted to visit; bummed around in Singapore a lot– held some popups. And a kimchi workshop. On a rooftop farm but mostly just tailed Mum in the kitchen. Yes I have.). 8211; any ...

http://www.mummyicancook.com/2014/11/turkey-beyond-drunken-kebabs-and-smoky.html
Thursday, 27 November 2014. Turkey beyond drunken kebabs, and a Smoky Aubergine Dip. What I've had these past few days instead, were wonderful things like lamb-stuffed quince and perfectly spiced lentil soup from a humble homestyle restaurant with daily-changing menus; fragrant sesame-studded simits. Turkish 'bagels'), freshly baked from an 80 year-old wood-fired oven in a quaint little cafe; and up in the snowy hills of Cappadocia, gozlemes. Which I pronounce wrong). Yilmaz' aubergine dip was ridiculous...

Mummy, I can cook!: For the love of lard
http://www.mummyicancook.com/2012/07/for-love-of-lard.html
Sunday, 8 July 2012. For the love of lard. Once every few months or so, my flat fills up with the heavenly aroma of of pork fat simmering away on top of the stove, releasing its lovely golden liquid, and a couple of hours later, my fridge gets two new jars of freshly-rendered creamy, snowy lard. But fat is good for you, especially the natural, saturated fats. That I see some of my friends try to peel or dab off. The doctors have finally come to realise it. Like the rather vile but. Right now. The mai...

Mummy, I can cook!: Half-Boiled Eggs
http://www.mummyicancook.com/2011/09/half-boiled-eggs.html
Tuesday, 27 September 2011. These are also called soft-boiled eggs in some Singapore coffeeshops and is a must-have accompaniment to kaya toast. But I don't think that's an accurate translation, because they're completely different. Instead of a solid white and a runny yolk, you have runny whites and a fake-solid yolk (it looks like a cooked yolk but gives way to delicious gooey mess once poked). I believe the Japanese have a similar thing called onsen tamago. Room temperature large free range eggs.

Saturday, 8 February 2014. NONG, the farm on a rooftop carpark. And, my fermentation workshop! A month ago, I made some toast and got to know some Singaporeans doing pretty amazing things.
