Shutterbuggy Kidd: May 2007

http://shutterbuggykidd.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 18, 2007. It's likely you've come here from my art blog so you already know I'm an artist. Last weekend I went out to do some plein air painting in a spot a short walk from my house. On the way back, carrying all my painting stuff I saw this (see below):. When I walked around behind the hawk it swung around and puffed itself up big. Was I about to get my face clawed off? I walked back home and called another animal expert friend of mine and Nancy told me to see if the bird had something it ha...

Shutterbuggy Kidd: July 2007

http://shutterbuggykidd.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 14, 2007. Where Was This Taken? Staying with the animal theme, I’ve put up another wild creature, well, urban wild. I wonder how well the cookie diet works for this rodent? This city has a large black squirrel population. Washington, DC does as well and I think that the squirrel populations in these two nations’ capitals are distantly related. I read that somewhere. Enough hints, where was this taken? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where Was This Taken? View my complete profile.

Shutterbuggy Kidd: August 2007

http://shutterbuggykidd.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. When you travel to foreign lands you should know the laws and customs of the countries you visit. There are some unusual rules that you are likely not to expect so study your travel guide. Above is how suspected ne’er-do-wells are treated in Canada. It's strange to think that my wife would spend time locked up with these reprobates for something considered quite laughable where we live. All she did was strangle a hobo. Kiddography: January 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Percival the Puny Painting Pachyderm. Below is a roughed out page from the graphic novel when Anna and Percival first meet. You should get a larger, more readable, version if you click on it. Posted by Tom Kidd at 11:39 AM. Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Posted by Tom Kidd at 12:15 PM. Tuesday, January 23, 2007. If people can be so different, how can there be any universal useful symbolism? Posted by Tom Kidd at 9:23 PM. Saturday, January 20, 2007.

Kiddography: March 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Monday, March 26, 2007. I forgot to mention in my previous elephant post that "Plein Air Pachyderm" is 8X11 inches. That's a pretty small painting for me. I plan to do more though. Why, someone might ask, do I have two blogs and who is this 'Gnemo' who signed this painting? I'm too tired to explain and just about everyone is tired of hearing it anyway. Posted by Tom Kidd at 10:02 PM. Thursday, March 22, 2007. William K. Moore. Posted by Tom Kidd at 12:16 AM. Note: Not long ...

Kiddography: September 2006

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Thursday, September 28, 2006. My hope is that I’ll solve some technical problems as I go and determine an approach that I like best. Expect this to evolve. The art on this new blog is presumably all scanned from Gnemo’s sketchbooks. I want it to look like it has been carried around for many years. My other hope in doing this is that I’ll get some feedback on design and technical issues. Posted by Tom Kidd at 9:48 PM. Saturday, September 23, 2006. The How, Why and Why Not?

Kiddography: November 2006

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Sunday, November 19, 2006. Small Works Show and Helioderm. You might want to skip over my rambling and go straight down the the pictures. I won't know if you do. Where does it come from? I think that everything in the universe rolls around on giant wobbly wheel called time. There’s something about the crisscrossing pattern of all those unpredictable waves of tire tracks that cause a buildup of greater and greater complexity. What the hell am I talking about? I’ll decided to...

Kiddography: April 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Saturday, April 28, 2007. Wednesday I received several copies of Fantasy Art Magazine from Beijing, China that I did an interview for. They did an excellent job of printing my Gnemo paintings. I was pleasantly surprised to see a gatefold (fold out) for two paintings. Here are three pages from the magazine. You can, of course, see my Gnemo art on Gnemo's Art and Story. But for the sake of novelty here they are with Chinese pictographs. More about this in my next installment.

Kiddography: February 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Can You Feel My Pain? The drawing is a bit comical. I did a serious version but that one seemed to be soliciting pity a bit too much. Besides, now that I’m on the mend, I can laugh at it. At the same time the evil little imp arrived a glacier moved across the land here. No, not snow, that’s not such a big deal. It was a rigid blanket of über-sleet. Before it could be shoveled it had to be broken up into movable chunks. Sunday, February 11, 2007.

Kiddography: May 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Thursday, May 31, 2007. Big Big Mess and A Book Cover. If you've been to my blog here recently you'll have noticed that you can't see pictures. That's partly fixed. I still have to upload all the old art going back to September. This may take a while. The server I use for this site burned out. Even my website was out of commission. Thanks to my brother-in-law it's fixed now. Thanks Sean. Posted by Tom Kidd at 10:39 PM. Sunday, May 20, 2007. Above: Oil, 10 X 15 inches. The p...

Kiddography: October 2006

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Tuesday, October 24, 2006. Below is something a little different for me. I struggled with it quite a bit to get it to have the correct feel. Actually, it was a mess and I don’t understand exactly why I get lost sometimes on something that should be fairly simple to do. My excuse is that I hadn't done anything like this for a while. Here’s how it went down in pictures:. Above: Bad and I know it. Above: It gets worse. Better and there's no reason that can't continue. And here...

Kiddography: June 2007

http://kiddography.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

The art and words of Tom Kidd. Monday, June 25, 2007. Does giving something a literary title make it anymore sophisticated? Above is the version I drew in someone's copy of Kiddography. This was scanned from a photocopy. My scanner died the day before I had to ship that book off. I think that I like the cowgirl version better. You really shouldn't be trying to ride a Tyrannosaur naked. This creature's rough hide is bound to give you dino sores. Yet another new Gnemo entry too: Gnemo's Sketchbook. OtherWo...

Shutter Bug Graphics

April 29, 2010 by shutterbuglover. My very first graphic related post! I created my blogs a few days ago, and spent yesterday creating a banner that would run along them both. In the end, I decided to only use it on my photo blog, and opted for a quick crop of retro image (as you can see at the top of this page! Here is the full size panel that I made at first:. Anyway, making this was timely, mainly because I’ve not used Photoshop in so long. Not much else I can say about this really! Is a blog that I&#...
