目加溜灣社屬社「直加弄社」的舊地，明鄭時期漢人沿台江內海在犁頭標社開拓灣港，至清初仍為「台江」的渡頭，其時，小舢板船到此載五穀、糖、等貨物，海水入至木柵仔止，港口甚闊。 直加弄（TACKALAN）為平埔族西拉雅族語，其原意為「乾草港」，今大部份屬台南縣安定鄉，小部分屬 善化鎮. 65292;當台江尚未陸浮之前「直加弄」係一漁港，而「台江」於1823年因曾文溪氾濫而於本鄉蘇厝甲西邊沖缺溪岸改道，注入大量泥沙，將「台江」陸續填平，「直加弄」遂失漁港功能，變成農村。 12300;台江」陸浮後，「灣港」漸失去航務機能，終至成為小溝，而留下「港口」、「港仔尾」、「渡仔頭」、「許（海）中營」、「頂洲仔」和「下洲仔」、「中崙」、&#...訂閱： 張貼留言 (Atom).

平埔族四大社之一，即新港社（今新市）目加溜灣社（今 善化. 65289;，麻荳社（今 麻豆. 65289;，蕭瓏社（今佳里鎮），鄭成功治台後，撫慰蕃地，開墾力耕，從事開發，社會秩序遂告大定，自此漢民族即陸續來台，拓殖定居，創立學堂，發展教育，於是文化漸進，人口日增，地方逐漸繁榮，逐成為漢族之社會。清治時隸屬台南府諸羅縣，並曾為縣治所在，1920年改制為台南州北門郡佳里庄（命名佳里之始），1933年升格為佳里街，直至1945年，改稱為 台南縣. 訂閱： 張貼留言 (Atom).
