The Life and Times of a Student Nurse. The ins and outs of a nurse in waiting. Friday, 29 June 2007. A busy morning in Endoscopy today, particularly as some assessors came in to make sure the Unit is meeting the Key Skills Framework. The cleaners have been in to buff the floor, trollies are sparkling, and some staff members have even had hair cuts! Evidently not). This wasn't good enough. I've been abandoned here for over an hour! It's interesting how the other three patients who were actually unwell wer...

The Life and Times of a Student Nurse: A Not So Dire Emergency
http://lifeandtimesofastudentnurse.blogspot.com/2008/02/not-so-dire-emergency.html
The Life and Times of a Student Nurse. The ins and outs of a nurse in waiting. Sunday, 3 February 2008. A Not So Dire Emergency. As a child I was taught that 999 was a very important number used in emergencies only, to the extent that I would still be very cautious of dialing it now for fear of jamming the phone line and preventing a real emergency call from being answered. The Life and Times of a Student Nurse. The ins and outs of a nurse in waiting. Thursday, 31 January 2008. I'll Have Your Eye Out! If so, you may not appreciate this post! I spent Tuesday with Wayne, the corneal eye retrieval nurse. Wayne's job is to assess the eligability of all deceased patients to donate their eyes for corneal transplant. Obviously this role is immersed in ethical, professional and legal issues and therefore many patients are unable to donate. For example, if "confusion? HIV, Hep B/C.

An NHS paramedic who loves his job but hates most, well some anyway, of his patients. Too old to understand why kids in their 20's can no longer take responsibility for themselves or their friends. Too young to be interesting. Wednesday, 10 January 2007. It was over a year ago, the summer of 2005. A good hot day where everyone seemed to have a smile on their face. I know I did and my crewmate who is normally grumpier than me laughed on at least two occasions. All was well. No Were there resps or pulse?

An NHS paramedic who loves his job but hates most, well some anyway, of his patients. Too old to understand why kids in their 20's can no longer take responsibility for themselves or their friends. Too young to be interesting. Sunday, 17 June 2007. My Granny called it the "sight", some call it the "gift", some call it precognition. I call it bloody predictable. The price was paid and I must say it was particularly painful. Heads Eight minutes (8) was the longest any were prepared to wait before getting.

I’m Autistic: What’s Your Excuse? February 7, 2007. Filed under: Things That Piss Me Off. 8212; rainmanlite @ 2:47 pm. The University of Bedfordshire (well, the Luton bit of it anyway; as far as I can tell they’re doing things pretty much the way they always have) has a. Slightly strange policy about timetables, which will take me a while to explain. But the tutors don’t write the timetable; someone else does. I would like to know who they are. I would also very much like to know why:. I’ve missed ...
