The Tench Lake at Orchard Lakes. Venue: Orchard Lakes Match Lake. Time: 16:00 to 19:00. Weather: Sunny (63 F) with a breeze. That carp will be up in the water at this time of year and floating baits will work. Martin Bowler’s suggestion that it is worth having a final try for tench. Bait: Bread crust and flake.

Friday 24th July saw a return to Dudmaston Hall’s Big Pool for the second visit of the week. I arrived at the car park at around 0615, unpacked the car and headed to the waterside – targeting the same swim as the earlier session of the week.
