Anne McAllister's Blog!: April 2006
http://anne-mcallister.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 30, 2006. If I were wearing a pair of mittens along with the three sweatshirts, that might be an excuse for not getting anything done on Spence. Sadly, that's not the excuse. In fact there is no excuse other than that I can't think what he's going to do next. I am intending to send him skipping ahead this afternoon - off to the land of palm trees where I hope he will finally get his act together and DO SOMETHING. Which I should have done yesterday but somehow didn't. Links to this post.

Sunday, February 26, 2006. Guilty Pleasures, part II. I feel like I'm writing one of those multi-part movie events - Matrix 1, Matrix 2, you know the sort. Or, in my case, maybe Code of the West XVII. Boggles the mind, really. But getting back to G.U.I.L.T - I think that maybe googling - and all that that entails - has become a guilty pleasure for me. Well, maybe not vast amounts of knowledge, but a smattering. Enough to get by. For the moment, anyway. Because sometimes googling is really "work." It'...

Thursday, August 31, 2006. The Pink Heart Society. Blogged today about The Pink Heart Society. Which Irish author Trish Wylie started at the beginning of the year. Tired of romances being dissed by all and sundry, and particularly weary of people thinking she should somehow hide her "addiction" to romance fiction, Trish decided instead to wave the banner proudly. So she began The Pink Heart Society. Groups list, if you'd like. I'll be there when I've finished shooting - er, lining up - my ducks! They've ...

Anne McAllister's Blog!: September 2006

Tuesday, September 19, 2006. The motorway coming east from Manchester was closed for a ways on Sunday. It may be closed today too for all I know, but Sunday was when we were coming this way. There was, however, no middle Heck. I feel this is a shame. The world cries out for a Middle Heck. Also, perhaps, a Lower Heck and an Upper Heck and a Heck If I Know. But they are not there. Yet. Od Sid and Co didn't finish. The chap at the top of the page is Little Heck. He's a newbie in Walker Household hedgeho...

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. I finally got to watch Walk The Line. This past weekend. I had had ambivalent feelings about watching it because I have so many memories, growing up, of Johnny Cash. If you never got to see it, you missed out on watching a whole generation of country music and early 'rock and roll' stars grow up: Marty Robbins, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline. And Johnny Cash was right there among them. The film did such a good job of recalling those days and...

Anne McAllister's Blog!: June 2006
http://anne-mcallister.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 30, 2006. That's what my life seems like these days - a series of random happenings with little rhyme or reason and even less focus. But as June ends, I can see that there is going to have to be a concerted focus on Spence and Sadie all during the month of July. This will be interesting because I have to go to Seattle for 5 days in the 3rd week, and I have grandsons and their cousin coming the week before to go to sports camp. Tomorrow England and Portugal and then Brazil and France. I n...

Anne McAllister's Blog!: March 2006

Friday, March 31, 2006. Well, of course it's good. Theo went to England on Monday, got read on Wednesday, approved on Wednesday night, line-edited on Thursday and today he's on his way to Canada for copyediting. What a guy! Nice turn around. Now if only they're as swift on the check. Ha. No, actually, once - ONCE - that did happen. I sent in a book and the next thing I knew - like 8 days later my agent called and asked what I wanted them to do with the check. I said, "What check? No, her name's not Ed).

Anne McAllister's Blog!: October 2006
http://anne-mcallister.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. In her blog a few days back (while I didn't have a life), Julie Cohen talked about what goes on in the first page or two of her books. How she isn't just nattering on, but is laying groundwork for things to come. And she challenged other authors to tackle the first page or two of their books and discuss that topic. So, here I am - discussing. I thought I'd take a look at The Santorini Bride. This is how it goes:. Was it only yesterday? And so she’d kicked off her sandals, strip...
