We provide a place to share our interest in the beauty and diversity of wildflowers found in these lovely mountains. As a secondary objective, we will be able to share our love of photography as it applies to capturing the images of the many wildflowers of our region. We invite you to join us by sharing your images and posting your comments about the information on this site. Warning! Flower of the Hour.

Brown's or Wild Peony. THE APPEAL OF WILDFLOWERS. What is it about wildflowers that makes people want to walk among them? Is it the diversity of color? The aroma in the fresh air? Why do we get so much joy from gazing upon wild gardens? So, humans are far from alone in their attraction to flowers. Indeed, when we stumble upon a wild garden, we're also stumbling upon a thriving social scene, a mixer, a merry bacchanalia where everyone is mingling, interacting, and saying hello.

Life in the Sierra Nevada with 15 Siberian Huskies. Saturday, February 25, 2012. The winter that wasn't and other ramblings. What a difference a year makes! Last year, there was so much snow that just figuring out where to put it was a challenge. I didn't have to work out; just shoveling tons of snow kept me in shape and I lost 5 pounds. For a while, I couldn't take the dogs out because of avalanche hazard and just not being able to move my truck. So, I did what any reasonably driven person would do....
