Sights and Sites of the Yukon. Almost all Yukon rivers belong to two of the largest river drainages in North America: the Mackenzie and the Yukon. The Teslin, Pelly, White, Stewart, Klondike, Fortymile and Porcupine rivers flow into the Yukon River. The Liard, Frances, Blackstone, Wind, Bonnet Plume, Snake and Ogilvie rivers all eventually flow into the Mackenzie River. Sights and Sites of the Yukon. The Dempster Highway is named for Royal Northwest Mounted Police officer William John Duncan Dempster who used dog teams to patrol the route from Dawson City, Yukon to Fort McPherson, Northwest Territories. This all-weather road crosses the Arctic Circle and ends near Inuvik on the Mackenzie River delta.
