Sigrid - sewing projects

Sigrid - sewing projects. My reviews on Pattern Review. Thursday, August 13, 2015. More progress – sleeve. In this jacket I chose to use the “sleeve wrap” method instead of the more conventional sleeve head. I first saw this method used in one of Ann Rowley’s jackets and kind as she is, she has a photo tutorial in her Flicker album. I’ve used it once before when doing a course in making a classic tailored jacket. This is how it looks like on the inside. And here on the outside. Thursday, August 13, 2015.

Sigrid - sewing projects: Nice progress

http://sigridsewingprojects.blogspot.com/2015/08/nice-progress.html

Sigrid - sewing projects. My reviews on Pattern Review. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. My jacket is coming along nicely, though it’s not finished yet. Just showing some inside photos and a first idea of how it looks now. The sleeves don’t have sleeve heads yet, but already have a nice curve. It’s quite a bit of work pressing all the interfacing in, but once that’s done, construction is pretty straightforward. Asked in her comment “. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Are the sleeves self drafted? The jacket looks amaz...

Sigrid - sewing projects: Combining pattern and sloper

http://sigridsewingprojects.blogspot.com/2015/08/combining-pattern-and-sloper.html

Sigrid - sewing projects. My reviews on Pattern Review. Sunday, August 2, 2015. Combining pattern and sloper. I love making jackets, as I answererd to Faye’s poll last week. Too And you will know already if you’ve been following my blog for a while. If you click the tag “Jacket” in the side bar you’ll see most of them (though admit I sometimes forget to tag my posts). Time to make another one. Initially I planned to use it for this jacket, but decided against it. As it might be of interest for those of y...

Sigrid - sewing projects: A new set

http://sigridsewingprojects.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-new-set.html

Sigrid - sewing projects. My reviews on Pattern Review. Thursday, May 21, 2015. There are a few ufo’s on my sewing table, two now only require attaching buttons or a snap, this set was a bit more work than that. Not too bad either, a bra only takes me about 3 hours, a set of panties an hour or so. Still… more work than sewing on buttons. Thursday, May 21, 2015. This is really a lovely set! The lace, combined with the white fabric, looks very nice! May 21, 2015 at 9:48 AM. Great combination of colors!

Sigrid - sewing projects: Book (sort of) review

http://sigridsewingprojects.blogspot.com/2015/05/book-sort-of-review.html

Sigrid - sewing projects. My reviews on Pattern Review. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Book (sort of) review. In a comment on yesterday’s post on the moulage Lyndle asked for information on the drafting book by Suzy Furrer. As it might interest more people I thought I’d answer it in a separate post. Right now it’s only offered at a price about 4 (four! Times the price you pay at Apparel arts directly. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Thankyou Sigrid for answering my question so fully! Like you I found the link to paypal a...

Wel~Mode: Armistice blouse

http://welmode.blogspot.com/2015/04/armistice-blouse.html

This blouse was made using the Folkwear #210 Armistice Blouse pattern. Gives a very good tip about using tape instead of selfmade ties and about using bias tape for instead of the fabric front facing. With me using silk I didn't even think about making my own front facing, much too fussy with slippery silk. So, if you're using a slippery fabric, forgo the tucks. April 24, 2015 at 12:04 PM. My now defunct sewing blog - check out AvaPotPie for our latest going ons. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Sewing, sewing, busy sewing. Ava had a hospital check up on Tuesday. Not wanting to waste a day of daycare that we had paid for, I sent her and I stayed home to sew. I thought I would I finish up the dress from the pattern below that I had cut a while ago. I spent a lot of yesterday on the dress as well and now I only have the zipper and hem to go. I am officially back on a diet. With the princess seams ...

Jen's Sewing Blog: June 2008

http://hwppcraftingandsewingblog.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

My now defunct sewing blog - check out AvaPotPie for our latest going ons. Monday, June 30, 2008. Progress is coming along slowly on Ava's coat. The pieces are all cut and the stay stitching is done. I would have been further along except for the fact that I spent three hours deciding how I would do the pockets! First I sewed the pocket to the lining, right sides together, then used pinking shears around the edge. Next I turned the pocket round the right way and *tried* to smooth out the rounded corners.

The first dress will be made with this fabric (mail order from spotlight). And here are some patterns I picked up op-shopping. The strawb...
