Dr. Nicolas Pereyra's - APG-CRC - Astronomy Physics Geology Center of Computational Research
http://www.nicolaspereyra.org/about-astronomy-nicolas-pereyra.html
Currently there are five students actively incorporated in developing FORTRAN 90 codes and IDL visualization of data of models of various physical systems. We will continue to attract more UTPA students and extend the research efforts of the APG-CRC. If you want to know more about what my team and I are doing at the APG-CRC you always can visit the Astrophysics Department Research page at UTPA. Accretion Disk Wind Model. On March 1997, when I was working at NASA/GSFC, I presented this Hydrodynamical Model of Line-Driven Accretion Disk Winds. In 2000, we developed a 2.5 dimensional model. Later,in 2005 my research confirmed the steady nature of line-driven disk winds. I enjoy teaching. I believe that teaching is a very important and complex activity. The key to teaching is to establish effective communication with the students by sustaining the students' interest on the subject matter. Such as c...

Dr. Nicolas Pereyra - Research: QSOs - Quasar
http://www.nicolaspereyra.org/qsos-nicolas-pereyra.html
023: Research QSOs - Quasar: Dr. Nicolas Pereyra. Research in Astrophysics includes the computational modeling of flows from QSOs (Quasars). QSOs are bright objects found at the center of some galaxies. They are also the brighest known astronomical objects. It is also likely that Quasars are suppermassive blackholes with an accretion disk. Observational and theoretical evidence supports the idea that the accreting mass forms an accretion disk. I was attracted to study QSOs because it allows us to study g...

Dr. Nicolas Pereyra - Accretion Disk Winds
http://www.nicolaspereyra.org/accretion-disk-winds-nicolas-pereyra.html
021: Research Accretion Disk Winds: Dr. Nicolas Pereyra. Observational and theoretical evidence supports the idea that the accreting mass forms an accretion disk, and that the UV/optical emission of the QSO could be coming directly from the surface of the accretion disk itself. Additionally, in about 10% of QSOs, high-velocity outflows (in the order of thousands of kilometers per second) are detected through the presence of Broad Absorption Lines in their spectra.

http://www.nicolaspereyra.org/radiative-transfer-nicolas-pereyra.html
022: Research Radiative Transfer: Dr. Nicolas Pereyra. During the years of 2005 to 2007, I was working as a Computational Physicist at Prism Computational Sciences, Inc. in Madison, Wisconsin. At that time, one of the many projects that I worked with, involved development of radiative transfer methods. My collaborators and I presented a new radiative transfer method ( Short-N Characteristics Radiative Transfer Method. 2007) - Short-N characteristic radiative transfer method in 2D cylindrical RZ coordinat...
