Dear Ada: March 2012
http://dearada.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
A blog dedicated to Ada Silapiruti. Thursday, March 1, 2012. The Purple Room up stair, used to be Ada's room. I painted it purple because she always has trouble sleeping. I thought by making the room darker might help, and it did. I painted it while Ada went on a field trip with her Girl Scout troop. She had a big Queen size bed so all her friends can hang out when they came over. I finally empty the room and asked Grant to come over and paint the room. It was not easy. But life needs to go on, I need to...

Dear Ada: January 2013
http://dearada.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A blog dedicated to Ada Silapiruti. Friday, January 18, 2013. Ok, Ada does need surgery. We went to see a plastic surgeon, who was very kind and very nice to us. He said Dr. Cohen, the Neuro Surgeon wrote a very nice note to him about Ada. He better! I am at peace, whatever happens, happens. I am ready. I would love to take care of these two ladies. With your help, I could be at ease during Ada's surgery and hospital stay. Her doctor hasn't scheduled the surgery yet, but it will be in a few month. 2012 h...

Squirrel, Oak Leaf and Acorn Necklace. Friday, February 25, 2011. Been working on making some new beads this week. Finally getting my butt in gear! Tuesday, February 22, 2011. So today, ...

Saturday, September 15, 2012. Well, I'm doing more frogging on the vest. I messed up somewhere and lost 5 stitches! Probably in the red "lacy" section. It's a simple yarn over and knit 2 together. I suspect I forgot some yarn overs. *Sigh*. But here is a in progress picture of it anyway. Tomorrows plan: Break out the polymer clay and start "smooshing" it. It's been close to a year. Hopefully I'll actually have some inspiration by tomorrow morning. . . January 27, 2013 at 10:00 PM. Polymer Clay for Fall.

Desert Wind Designs: October 2011

Wednesday, October 12, 2011. I finished the "Halloween" hearts I was working on. I'm just not into some of the Halloween creepiness, and I thought hearts would be more fun. And, well, they don't look very Halloween-like, so now they are autumn/fall/harvest hearts. They were fun to make and I like how they turned out even it they aren't quite right for Halloween. I added purple mica powder to the black heart and beads before curing. I love the shine that it added. Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Learning and p...

Sunday, September 23, 2012. Polymer Clay for Fall. Well, its been, what a year? I pulled out some polymer clay and let it set a few days (you know to kind of ferment). Kato Polyclay is very strong after curing, but is a pain in the a- - err neck to condition. It calls for specialized equipment to begin the conditioning process. Each little package got a thorough beating with the hammer. Then it was off to the pasta machine to finish conditioning the polymer clay. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. The black fi...

Desert Wind Designs: July 2011
http://desertwindscreativemusings.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. I have tried on more than one occasion to make polymer clay cabochons. This is my latest attempt. I finally, finally after what feels like a bazillion tries got a nice shiny surface! I really took my time with these and spent a lot of time getting the surface nice and smooth. Then, I used rubbing alcohol to smooth the surface even more before curing. After they cooled, I sanded them with progressively finer grits of sand paper (320 to 1000) and buffed them with my Dremel. Here is ...

Tuesday, April 12, 2011. March Polymer Clay Smooshers Challenge. The theme for March's Smoosher's Challenge was "tribal". I was inspired to create some "faux bronze" some pictures I found of some ancient Celtic artifacts. I created a mix of copper and black Kato polymer clay. I used a few basic tools for making pendants and beads. The needle tool and sandpaper are invaluable for adding texture. The little orange bit is a triangle shaped template made from orange card stock. And here is a picture of the f...

Saturday, September 24, 2011. I finished this necklace a few days ago. The leaves are from this blog post: Autumn. I should have made more, I used almost all of them. I plan to make more leaves. I'm thinking earrings, more necklaces and some leafy bracelets. It seemed like a lot of leaves when I made them, but I guess it wasn't. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. It Must Be Getting Cooler Because. I've been working on some knitting. Yesterday, I started a Jane Thornley. For it that is free on her website.
