A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Tuesday, July 22, 2014. So now I'm back here at the school just in time for the peak of summer heat, Mel's gone on her trip so I'm alone in the room, which is peaceful, but I'd enjoy it more if I wasn't sweating 24/7. It's actually hotter here than it was in Hainan and there's no refreshing ocean breezes. So it's not always hotter the closer you go to the equator. Who knew? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Friday, January 24, 2014. Last fall I started taking chinese ink painting classes. The teacher is a local artist who teaches painting and chinese calligraphy to quite a few students at our school. I started on a bit of a lark with zero art experience beyond childhood crayon drawings but ended up loving it! I wrote a little about it last year. Thursday, January 16, 2014. Tuesday, January 7, 2014. The first few days of training were brutal! All I can s...

A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. It's May 1st here and that means it's only 4 months left until we're done. I've been making so much progress since I've started practicing on my own more and it's so exciting! In a way it makes the 4 months seem too short, wish I'd done this a year ago. haha. Kung fu and I have a growing confidence that it is enough and good and right for me. Just a few thoughts that have been floating around in my head lately. I just thoug...

A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Thursday, September 26, 2013. I haven't blogged in 2 weeks and it's been a pretty weird 2 weeks. We went to Beijing for that performance which was also a competition of sorts apparently, sort of like China's Got Talent,. I'm sure it's obvious but I can't wait to get out of here, this has all been pretty stressful and I can't wait to see my family and friends again. Yay! Only one month to go now. A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Thursday, August 7, 2014. It's rained and cooled off quite a bit so we're all much happier and sleeping better. I have my fingers crossed that it'll stay cool at least for another few days. Less than 4 weeks! You could try the Confucius Institute of Edmonton for classes. Have a safe trip home! A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Thursday, June 19, 2014. I think I'll really notice the changes when I get back home and start living a relatively normal life again. I hope I can find a way to continue to improve. Scratch that, I know. I can find a way, because it's important to me. Then, later, I can help others to do the same. Thursday, June 12, 2014. Less than 3 months left now. Pretty exciting. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Silent River Kung Fu.

A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. It's hard to think of anything else to say. It's that hot where you don't want to eat and you wake up all sweaty in the middle of the night. I wouldn't mind training in the heat if I knew I had a comfortable place to shower and sleep. Once again, I am reminded how fortunate I am at home. It is almost here, the time for you to enjoy the comforts of home :). July 30, 2014 at 8:39 AM. July 30, 2014 at 11:16 AM.

A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Thursday, August 21, 2014. Less than 2 weeks left! We've been busy packing things up, giving stuff away, making arrangements to travel, and of course a little training too! We sent our weapons yesterday which was the toughest task and now we're almost ready. Just one more box to pack and send a few days before we go. I've been having trouble sleeping this week. I just have so much to look forward to! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Monday, May 25, 2015. Today I just want to write one thing, an idea I've been kicking around. Saturday, May 9, 2015. It's been 8 months since I've blogged! So I won't be sharing any crazy stories of training in China but what I will do is share my thoughts on being here and teaching. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A term I once heard used to describe Taoism. It stuck. Saturday, November 2, 2013. This break feels special because I know in September, that's it. I am so looking forward to that time. It's so exciting to think about. I can start preparing a bit now and it just feels really great to be doing that kind of thing. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
