There's no edge here: June 2014
http://theresnoedgehere.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
There's no edge here. Navigating the ambiguity that comes with being a woman, a wife, and a mom - all at the same time. Monday, June 30, 2014. Okay then. Forty it is. This is the month I began consulting an older age bracket when calculating my target heart rate on the elliptical. Or I would, if the heart rate monitor worked or was accurate. It's the principle of the thing, really. 1) I expected to have a better handle on my hair. 2) My knees have not yet given out - a welcome surprise. 10) By now I expe...

There's no edge here: December 2014

There's no edge here. Navigating the ambiguity that comes with being a woman, a wife, and a mom - all at the same time. Monday, December 29, 2014. We are visiting my family in snowy Canada, although it is not as snowy or as cold as I expected. Considering that we dragged an extra suitcase here to accommodate snow suits and related paraphernalia, we better get at least one snow storm. Anyway, it's the annual mountain of gifts that has me writing today. I used to worry that all these presents would und...

There's no edge here: The Snowman Cometh
http://theresnoedgehere.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-snowman-cometh.html
There's no edge here. Navigating the ambiguity that comes with being a woman, a wife, and a mom - all at the same time. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Despite all the white stuff, the roads were surprisingly clear when we left to visit Jon's sister and her family this weekend. Much had melted, and I guess people were still digging themselves out in most areas. After debating whether or not to travel at all, we managed to shave 45 minutes off our long drive. Hurrah! There's no edge here. Navigating the ambiguity that comes with being a woman, a wife, and a mom - all at the same time. Saturday, January 25, 2014. Internal Monologue, Running Edition. Links to this post. Thursday, January 23, 2014. Waffle iron. We meet again. But today, sitting here in my p.j.s (schools closed! I officially pronounce us here. As in, we are not going anywhere. As in, we are staying in Maryland. As in, the whole job search thing didn't work out. Links to this post. Friday, January 3, 2014.

There's no edge here. Navigating the ambiguity that comes with being a woman, a wife, and a mom - all at the same time. Friday, July 18, 2014. 1) Began looking at houses yesterday (9) and will look at more (4) today. Second runs on Sunday. Decision by Tuesday? 2) House hunting is horrible. I've seen things I've liked, but I'm no good when it comes to balancing tradeoffs. There are no perfect homes - with whose flaws can I live? So, lots of changes/decisions/etc. etc. etc. Overwhelmed, but on-task. It is ...

Amy's Next Adventure: June 2012
http://amydove.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tales of being a new faculty member, settling into a new town, and me just being me. Sunday, June 3, 2012. I might have a problem. So cute, right? That is Clarence, named by Alex for no particular reason. Clarence reminds me a lot of Mr. Freckles in terms of personality and spunk. He was hopping around the tank eating flies without being shy at all. Mrs. Butterworth is pretty shy. However, you may notice that Olive is not a super cute tree frog. She (he? I mean really, how could I resist? So, yeah, I bou...

Through the Lens: August 2010
http://emselfphotography.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
This is my life. It is a journey, an education, and a joy. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Here are a few random shots of an abandoned section of land right off post. I drive by it daily and finally decided to stop yesterday to see what there is to see. I find things like this interesting – the destroyed geometric shapes all fallen on top of each other. I like it – there is something organic but also static about it that I like. Pictures from Ft. Leonard Wood. Sunday, August 22, 2010. 10 hours later (8 of which...

Life with Lilly...: January 2011

Saturday, January 15, 2011. Update on Baby Galloway. I've made it through week 23 day 4 of this pregnancy. after about week 16 it got much better and I've started to really enjoy the process! No more constant nausea and vomiting :-) A few weeks ago I started feeling her move, and it's the best thing ever! I can't get enough of her little thumps and kicks. Greg has been able to feel her move also, almost as early as I could! And I am hoping that means she will be a little cuddle bug. :-) We'll see! I came...
