Centuries before contemporary Japanese and Korean pop culture swept through Asia, it was the China wave of the. Dynasties that impacted neighboring countries. Chinese art, food, philosophy was adopted as part of their own native culture. And so was hanfu. The garment worn by Han Chinese for over three thousand years, but suppressed after the Manchu conquest in 1644. It has been mostly forgotten and obsolete for over 360 years in the native country, but its variations - the Japanese kimono.
