Hey, I have this blog thing, let's use it - Daniel Martin
http://dtm.livejournal.com/39394.html
My personal blog, and not in any way the opinions of my employer. Hey, I have this blog thing, let's use it. We visited family in northern Wisconsin over New Year's, and one of the things that happened there is that we were introduced to the show "The Big Bang Theory", and I watched the whole first season on DVD. An extension of "Rock, Paper, Scissors". (I'm going to call this game "RPSSL" in this post). Is an odd number = 3, is a two-player game in which players secretly select one of n. So here's what ...

Mischa's Family Reunion, 2002
http://www.sistertotherain.com/2002famreunion.html
Family Reunion, 2002. Having a family is liking having a bowling alley installed in your brain. I would be able to make it to the airport an hour before my flight was scheduled to leave so everything would be ok. And everything was. I won a $10 silver souvenir coin. That was pretty cool. And her aunt, Sunny. No luggage to get since I didn't check anything in. After leaving the airport, we stopped by to see Terry, Sunny's son, briefly. Another person I hadn't seen in years since I don't recall see...Desir...

Mischa saw Rasputina in Concert
http://www.sistertotherain.com/rasputina.html
Family Reunion, 2002. Freebasing mother's milk just to see what it's like. On June 29th, 2002, Amy, Stuart, and I attended a Rasputina concert in San Francisco in The Cellar at Johnny Foley's. We arrived at the club at 7 pm. We waited in line, chatting, for our tickets. We got our tickets and had to go back to waiting in line to get into the show. This seemed silly and since we needed to eat anyway, we went to a nearby Japanese restaurant to eat instead of waiting in line some more. Amy and I decided to ...

Mischa's Vague Attempt at a Book List
http://www.sistertotherain.com/books.html
Family Reunion, 2002. Book lovers are thought by unbookish people to be gentle and unworldly, and perhaps a few of them are so. But there are others who will lie and scheme and steal to get books as wildly and unconscionably as the dope-taker in pursuit of his drug. I figured it might be fun to have a book list, if only to keep track of what I've been reading. I will be posting books and graphic novel collections. Single issues that I read will just have to be lost in the shuffle. :). Total New Novels: 32.

Mischa's Pictures

Family Reunion, 2002. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked awful, but I always look awful in the mirror. I keep myself going with the firm belief that my real face is much better looking. From When Gravity Fails. By George Alec Effinger. I made a graph of my immediate family. Some of my friends requested this to illustrate the stories I tell about my family since I have so. And a 1997 picture. When I got it cut. I've also put up a picture of Michael, my little brother, and his new wife, Marisa.

Family Reunion, 2002. Dorothy Parker is one of my favorite poets. As I learned more about her in college, she became one of my heroes. Oh, there are definitely parts of her life I wouldn't care to emulate (suicide attempts, alcoholism) but something about her speaks to me. :) I even had a friend in college who called me "Mrs. Parker" after we saw the movie Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle. But I've never really understood why. Ah, the mysteries that are my friends. I have some friends.

Mischa's Friends

Family Reunion, 2002. Oh, you can't help that, said the Cat; we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad. How do you know that I'm mad? You must be, said the Cat. Or else you wouldn't have come here. From Alice In Wonderland. Believe it or not, I have friends. I am even pretty sure most of them are not on my mom's payroll. Though it is possible that they are insane. Does have a livejournal account to make communication between us that much easier. You know, I can't remember how Amy and I met. I think it ...

Mischa's Day: 9-11-01
http://www.sistertotherain.com/9-11-01.html
Family Reunion, 2002. Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood. I was sleeping, not very soundly since I'd gotten up about 6:30 to get something to drink and I always have trouble going back to a deep sleep. The phone started ringing. I ignored it, just a telemarketer probably. It stopped when my voice mail picked up and then immediately started ringing again. I crawled over to that side of the bed and got the phone. It's now almost 7:45 am. I ran into the living room, turned on the computer and the T...

Checking in - Ramblings of a sugered brain. August 2nd, 2007. 07:33 am - Checking in. Just checking in that I am fine and was nowhere near the bridge that collapsed. August 2nd, 2007 01:57 pm (UTC). Yaaaay. Thank goodness. We thought of you immediately. August 2nd, 2007 02:14 pm (UTC). For some reason, I thought you were out of town this summer, so I wasn't worrying about you. Glad to know that I still don't have to worry. August 2nd, 2007 08:51 pm (UTC). August 3rd, 2007 03:40 am (UTC).

Mischa's Hobbies
http://www.sistertotherain.com/hobbies.html
Family Reunion, 2002. When your hobbies get in the way of your work - that's OK; but when your hobbies get in the way of themselves. well. Probably the only thing I've done regularly for as long as I can remember is read. I like reading. It is my favorite of my hobbies. I don't read quite as much as I used to, but I still read quite a lot. I am making a vague attempt at a book list. But I can't promise I'll keep it up. I played the flute in junior high and the recorder in college. I tried to teach my...
