Monday, February 20, 2012. Uif heeft me aangestoken: ik heb een arduino! Een arduino is een klein printplaatje, dat je kan programmeren met USB, waarna 't zelfstandig jouw programmaatje uitvoert. Je kunt er ledjes aan hangen, of knopjes, of sensoren, of motortjes, of wat je maar wil. En 't doet wat je wil, soms. Helaas mocht onze steun niet baten, Cal werd ingemaakt door Stanford. Met Kerst zijn we weer in Nederland geweest. Zodat ik - met Mieke - Oma weer eens kon bezoeken. De Krebbers in het Sarfatihuis.

Thursday, February 24, 2011. Ja, de klad zit er goed in. De vorige post was al ruim een maand geleden. Geen nieuws is goed nieuws. En er was weinig nieuws. 't leven lijkt normaal te worden. Werken, eten, slapen, weekend. En ik ben een nerd die kennelijk liever iets in elkaar pielt om 't NRC te downloaden dan vrienden en familie laat weten hoe 't gaat. Ander nieuws: Renske heeft een (nieuwe) racefiets! M'n autootje - of is 't autooooootje gezien de omvang? Verder gaat alles wel voorspoedig op 't werk....

Sunday, January 12, 2014. Hawaii was geweldig. 't is "maar" 5 uur vliegen vanaf LA. We hadden een hele vroege vlucht (6:50) van Oakland naar LA. In LA hadden we 6 uur overstaptijd, net genoeg om met de bus naar Venice Beach te gaan, pootje te baaien, een kop koffie te drinken en op tijd terug te komen naar de luchthaven. Ate op Venice Beach. Renske op Venice Beach. Renske en Ate voor Kilauea. Gestolde lava met belletjes. Stoompluimpjes in Kilauea Iki. Voor een "Lava Tube". Een lycopod (soort plantje).

Monday, June 25, 2012. Kaiser Peak en de Livermore Rodeo. Hier zijn de foto's. Ik probeer nog een panorama aan elkaar te stikselen. Terugkijkend naar Huntington Lake. De High Country in de verte, vanaf Kaiser Pass. Machtige wolken boven de Sierras. Renske bijna bovenop Kaiser Peak. Toen we beneden aankwamen bij 't packing station (waar we geparkeerd hadden) vroeg een joviale cowboy (ze bestaan echt, daarover later meer) nog: Is dat jullie groene Subaru? Renske rijdt vrolijk terug door de Central Valley!

Bijna in 70 minuten dus. Vijf minuten sneller dan de laatste keer dat ik 't (voor de lol) probeerde. 312e van de heren.
