There are places 100s of them, in fact where artists of all disciplines can go to work on their art: painters and play writes, filmmakers and fiction writers, composers, choreographers, printmakers, and poets, sculptors, scholars, and songwriters. They are research-and-development labs for the arts, providing artists with time, space, and support for the creation of new work and the exploration of new ideas.

Applications are new being accepted for the Exnihilo Art Award. 1000 to be awarded to a student pursuing a post-secondary degree in art. Intended for students from the outer islands of The Bahamas (also known as Family Islands) The Exnihilo Art Award seeks to provide financial assistance for those individuals who may otherwise be unable to attend college due to the barrier of being from a Family Island. Applications are now being accepted here. All applications must be submitted by September 30, 2016.

Daniel is 23 today. February 4, 2011 9:38 PM. No way to say it other than. I am so proud. How many parents can claim that their 23 year old is gainfully employed, with their own place to live while following their creative pursuits. Well, it has been a hard-working few years but effort has paid off. Our son Daniel turns 23 today. I couldn't be more proud in the adult he has become. Is there any better life trophy than that. I don't think so. Tons of love on your 23rd. So proud there aren't enough words.
