https://simonemccallum.com/2015/03/16/whats-cool-about-the-new-nutshell-camera-app
Social media, digital stuff, and me. March 16, 2015 —. What’s cool about the new Nutshell camera app? I download apps nearly every day of the week. Many have a fleeting appearance on my phone, and are deleted a few days later. Others hang around until the next cleanup, and a very few move to the sacred Home screen. The new Nutshell. Camera app is definitely in the second category and may even move into the third. I’ve signed up for the Beta testing program here. Feature to add music to the final video.

Social media, digital stuff, and me. October 30, 2014 —. I’m No Silver Ferns Captain. I hobbled the two kilometres back to the office fighting back my disappointment. It was just 10 days from the ASB Auckland Marathon, and even though I was not entered in the full marathon – or even the half marathon! Not something you can do every day, so I was feeling very anxious about not being able to take part in it. I’m not a big runner as I have blogged about before. It’s funny the things you miss. Social media, digital stuff, and me. May 5, 2015 —. How a CNN reporter is nailing Periscope. I’ll admit it. When the live streaming apps Meerkat and Periscope were launched earlier this year, I was pretty excited. I downloaded them, tried them both out, watched streams from all round the world and chattered about them to anyone who would listen. And then the Royal Baby arrived and everything changed. Hands down the best use of Periscope has been by CNN correspondent Max Foster. Is LIVE on @ periscopeco.

Social media, digital stuff, and me. November 24, 2014 —. Get great yoga at home. I’ve been suffering from a calf injury. Lately, so I’ve had a hunt around for a low impact exercise alternatives like yoga. Although I try to attend the lunchtime yoga sessions at work, sometimes it just doesn’t happen. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just practise yoga at home when you have time, but with the help of a teacher rather than doing the routines from memory or illustrations? Social media, digital stuff, and me. October 2, 2014 —. Hopefully not. But if you replaced all the sugary food and drink references with “your smartphone” – how about now? In China, they have footpath lanes. Dedicated to these walking digital dead. Yes, whole footpath lanes! On the flipside though, some people are acknowledging that what was initially novel and fun has developed into a digital crutch for life. Adults can now pay hundreds of dollars to attend a digital detox camp. Love your work SMC.
