Glass Legs in NICE- An attempt to start IronMan France - Nice. An injury-prone attemp to get to the start line of IronMan France - Nice. Thursday, 8 April 2010. A VERY easy week but I was in Africa. Last week I managed exactly 4 1/2 hours of training. That must be some sort of record. Bike - 2 1/2 hours (one 2 hours and one 30-mins of miserable cold before a brick run). Run - one 30 min brick, 10 minutes barefoot in Kenya. Core - One hour. Total training for 13 weeks to go: 4 hours. The wonders of physio.

I am back from Kenya and so far this week I have almost done enough training to call myself a triathlete. Sunday - 1 hour core. Monday - 1 hour base run on treadmill at Z2/3. Tuesday - travel back from Kenya. Wednesday - 1 hour 45 mins bike at Z2 and 15m run at Z2. Friday 45mins interval run. The wonders of physio.

Could it all go wrong with five weeks to go? The downside of cortisone is that I have now been able to train for two days. I missed a long ride last weekend for the race and will not do this week's until Monday. I have a really good physio, a nice sports doctor (who writes me prescriptions for the physio, so I do not have to pay) and a decent sport's masseur - I like to think of them as my long suffering medical help. My physio is the best masseur but he has other things to be doing besides giving me a massage. 1 Stretch a lot.
