Vest Pocket Kodaks were manufactured between 1912 and 1926. Many were carried into battle during the Great War and became known as the 'Soldier's Camera' due to their popularity with the troops. The camera pictured dates from 1917. During September 2015 I photographed the Somme, Arras and Ypres landscape with two of these vintage cameras. I'll be adding more photographs and detailed captions to the gallery as I process the negatives. More information can be found at: The Vest Pocket Kodak.

A fine example of a Roman parade ground is located to the east of the fort. The photo above is of the north east tower with the Scafell Range in the distance. Travelled to this location via the notorious Hardknott pass … a very steep and narrow road with numerous hairpin bends! And tagged black and white.

The lens in the photo is a Sonnar 4/150 but the sea stack image was made using a Distagon 4/50.
