About | from digital to analogue
https://simonjamesonweston.wordpress.com/3486-2
From digital to analogue. This started as a blog on .mac a couple of years ago to coincide with my switch to analogue photography from digital. Originally called analogueski (a bastardization of the word to pay homage to my initial leaning towards cameras from the Former Soviet Union); it became clear after only a few months that I needed to find an alternative home for a blog that had started to grow beyond the simple constricts of .mac. I am not a professional photographer (one look at my pictures is g...

VM:HK: April 2012
http://vminhk.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. How I spent my morning. One of the best things about being in Hong Kong as a designer is the endless (or what appears to be) supplies of buttons, fabrics and all things shiny. I had to make a trip to ShamShuiPo, the district devoted to trims and fabrics to pick up supplies I needed. What I love most though is not the newest button but the old signage, the crowds bustling around junk stalls and my new favourite the pawn shops. And more rain with thunderstorms. Wednesday, April 11,...
VM:HK: Home from Home
http://vminhk.blogspot.com/2012/07/home-from-home.html
Thursday, July 12, 2012. When vintage hunting for vic&lily I often come across the weird and bizarre. What I found yesterday proved to be the strangest (in the best way) one yet. Scotland embroidered onto a blouse! Why there is grapes in the centre baffles me. What I do love is the name on the label. Couldn't get more Scottish. Nice when you find a little piece of home from home. Ps I didn't buy it.should I have done? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. From Sketch to Sample.
VM:HK: January 2012
http://vminhk.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 18, 2012. For Christmas last year I turned my adventures of 2011 into a book, a photo book. To be more precise. To decide on the size and shape of book, I looked no further than the square photographs of my Diana camera. We'd been on many an adventure together last year and the products of said adventures were included in the book:. Hong kong - ofcourse. La and san fran - where the obsession with Diana started. I used t he blurb website. Infact I may even have an idea for my next one.

Thursday, July 19, 2012. From Sketch to Sample. Being a designer is a pretty cool (I am very lucky to be living the dream) job especially when you see your designs come to life. I'm currently working on two very exciting projects which allow me to be quite hands-on. This week I travelled to the factory in China to check on the progress. Can't wait til they are all complete and ready to share with the world! July 20, 2012 at 3:03 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A CUP OF JO.

VM:HK: May 2012
http://vminhk.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 20, 2012. For the past few weeks I have been helping the lovely peeps (thats you DF) at the ARTHK promote this years art fair. It has been happening all weekend and today I got my chance to take a peek inside. There was a whole host of things to see from the very bizarre to the beautiful. Here are a few of my favourites. Even though I can't afford these works of art they have inspired me to create some of my own. Tuesday, May 8, 2012. How the stall looked as the bazaar opened. Attempting to g...

They remind me so much of Chinese lanterns, perhaps they came out for the festival? Thursday, September 8, 2011. Waterfalls and Water Gods. VM:HK: The Little Black Jacket
http://vminhk.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-little-black-jacket.html
Wednesday, July 18, 2012. The Little Black Jacket. Hong Kong was fortunate enough to be one of the places that Karl Lagerfeld's 'The little black jacket' exhibition stopped. Along with the help of Carine Roitfeld, Karl photographed models, celebrities and muses in the infamous Chanel jacket. Although it was not on the scale as the traveling Chanel quilted bag exhibition it was still an interesting insight to the world of the the little black jacket. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
