CANNY'S GAMBIT: October 2016
http://cannysgambit.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
Miniature painting and Star Wars prop builds. Sunday, 30 October 2016. Rogue One Rebel Helmet - Fabric Cover. Made up a test pattern and I have sewn one up, I will need to make the side panels about 10mm smaller to get a nice stretch over the helmet currently its a bit loose. The Fabric colour is a bit darker than the endor helmet and after some weathering I think I can get it very close to the on set colours. Making the side panels a little smaller with tighten up the cover making it look a little better.

http://cannysgambit.blogspot.com/2016/12/star-wars-rogue-one-rebel-helmet-2-days.html
Miniature painting and Star Wars prop builds. Monday, 12 December 2016. Star Wars Rogue One Rebel Helmet - 2 days togo! The good thing about the future resin cast. Ones is that they will be one piece so they will be solid with a lot less flex. I have already made adjustments to the files to accommodate the extra close spots and taken a few spot in a tad. This is because of the extra fabric thickness in places. Peel of the masking tonight and clear coat ready for the premier. Now with the ability to desig...

Miniature painting and Star Wars prop builds. Sunday, 19 April 2015. Socket Base Part 1. Making a Socket base. Getting hold of a plinth is as easy as going to a timber yard and buying a length of 35x35 or what ever size you need and cutting it to length (you can even get them to do it for you). You can add a beading to it also if you are keen. Or you can purchase one from a retailer. S. Squirt it on to the base and a little to the side use your modelling tools and brush to move it around and squash it in...

http://cannysgambit.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Miniature painting and Star Wars prop builds. Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Contrast and better Bases. Skin is tricky and it may seem weird to use darker colours but for what we do adding contrast pushing the tones using greys, brown, reds what ever, down to black if its needed. I used these reference pictures of a statue to help with light and shadow. What we see in real life. What our eye needs to see in smaller scale to figure out whats going on and look good. I looked at the shape of the rocks added some po...
