How To: Recognize Social Content. May 11, 2009. The King is Dead – Long Live the King. At the Social Media Breakfast in Austin on Friday 8th May I was fortunate to be on a great panel with @lionelatDell. Both of whom are extremely smart thought leaders in the area of content. Below is the video excerpt of me explaining my definition of Social Content. Letting Go to Gain Greater Control. What Does it Look Like? The potential for Social content is endless, I foresee brands being able to included customers ...

I am often asked about what tools I use for maintaining contact with Twitter and which my favorites are. I decided to create this resource page to act as a toolbox for readers of this blog. I do still use the web version of Twitter occasionally – www.twitter.com. By far my favorite web based Twitter editor is iTweet. The editor I use most of the time is a desktop application called TweetDeck. A tool that is extremely good for finding new people to follow is Mr. Tweet. The one I use most is Tweetbeep.
How To: Kill A Brand With Social Media | the IncSlinger

How To: Kill A Brand With Social Media. May 14, 2009. Social Media is the new darling of many brands, the silver bullet that will fix all ills. While some brands have made major in roads in discovering a new method of expanding their ability to reach their customers and potential customers some have quite obviously become so over enamoured with Social Media that they have forgotten the basics of managing a brand. A search on Facebook brings equally crushing results, of the first ten (page one), one is fa...

Amy. Lite.: Macworld 2009
http://a-lite.blogspot.com/2009/01/macworld-2009.html
I started this blog just to have something to say. Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Here is a picture of my brother standing in front of the car from Back To The Future. For some of you, this will be reason enough to attend MacWorld, so I’m putting it first. Here is a picture of me with my amazingly tasty FREE blueberry cocktail from Viximo. Seriously, even though it was warm and served in plastic, this was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in the past three months. I came away with a plastic Nikon-emblazone...

I started this blog just to have something to say. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. How NOT to use LinkedIn and Facebook to promote your business. I received several messages this week. In my Facebook and LinkedIn accounts from friends who were promoting some service or another. The messages were basically spam: mass-mailed, impersonal, email advertisements offering little or no value to the recipient. They were perfect examples of What Not To Do. Social Media is about reputations. Also worth noting is that ...

I started this blog just to have something to say. Friday, November 21, 2008. I really need to get into the habit of taking a mid-day break. Because now my eyeballs are glazing over and I need a break but the sun is sinking and the idea of going outside is completely unappealing. When I get rich, I'm going to hire my own girl to come over here and extricate me. I'll probably call her an "assistant" or "personal trainer" but what she actually is is an Amy Extrication Device (AED). Stopped by here and this...

Amy. Lite.: Social Marketing Goodness
http://a-lite.blogspot.com/2008/11/social-marketing-goodness.html
I started this blog just to have something to say. Thursday, November 6, 2008. In my family of origin, if you really admire someone, you almost never say it to their face. For some reason, this is considered over-familiar and manipulative. If you really want to make someone feel good about themselves, you talk about them behind their backs. Anyhow, tonight I went to this awesome presentation on social marketing by web geniuses Anna Billstrom. Who I know from my SFWOW. Aggregates all your shit in one plac...

I started this blog just to have something to say. Friday, November 7, 2008. Listening to Naomi reminds me of a Martha Stewart article. Naomi is a lot like that. In her online business school. She talks about how she made tons of money by focusing on one tiny market and then it turned out not to be so tiny after all. And sure, that is part of it. And part of it is luck. But it is not just focus, or just luck. She breaks things down. She makes the impressive accessible. November 10, 2008 at 1:26 PM.

This is the work of director-choreographer Kathleen Marshall who has staged the show three quarters in the round.
