Splendid Sampler and Fairy Tale WiPs. I’ve been making the Splendid Sampler blocks alongside Ulla and Simone (see sidebar). This is what 1-61 looks like. There will be 100 blocks eventually. Some of these blocks are incredibly detailed considering 2 designs are released each week (Thursday’s and Sundays). Some weeks these are all I’ve managed. The 2 crochet bags I shared last time have now been lined in a cute hexagon print. I added a phone sized pocket too. I forgot to share this lap rug in crochet....

I’m not really here. I’m half way through an assignment. I thought I ought to show you some makings for Jodie Cyprus Dog Rehoming’s. This set of leads and collars go with some adopt me coats I made. See below. More blue martingale collars. A little buttoned cushion for Lyla in the car. Kaffe Fassett collars in pale pink. Set of adopt me coats for Jodie Cyprus Dog Rehoming. Lettering was printed on. Logo was sewn on. I won the gorgeous vibrant painting! Spring has arrived in the garden. Close up of the sn...

Life keeps getting in the way! I am getting heartily fed up of wordpress. A friend said I was coming up as a no reply blogger and I hadn’t altered a thing! I mean look at how it has loaded my pic from the i pad! It shows how i am currently storing my cheap acrylic yarn in the old cupboards from the laundry room. It also hasn’t loaded my pics in order! This is the finished 1-2 year jumper for the One Day box. So so pleased for her as it will give her a whole new lease of life. The lump is air! 40 tissue h...

Oxford Museum of Natural History Makings. Welcome to the Oxford Museum of Natural History. WordPress yet again cannot understand the concept of a portrait photograph, so apologies. The building dates from the 1860s and was designed as a cathedral to glorify the natural world with its soaring iron arches and great use of glass. The iron arches were decorated in similar motifs to Medieval decorated churches. The dinosaurs are a big draw. Reconstruction of the face. Each arch has a different motif. On the c...

Craft Olympics “Special” Finish 5. This number plate made me smile- so seasonal. Now Deb has opened her Christmas parcel I can share these 4 mice which can live in the Mouse House I made her for her birthday. I thought the mice ought to earn their keep so one has a bag with a thimble, another has a needle case, another carries scissors, and the other has a mushroom pincushion. We’ve had marshmallows toasting on Big Bertha the study fireplace. Happy New Year everyone. Posted in Craft Olympics. This is wha...

WILLOW'S COTTAGE: August 2015
http://willowscottage.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Life and Knitting at Willow's Little House. Thursday, August 27, 2015. It's almost September and I'm counting down the days until I turn the calendar page to the month I start back teaching. I'm also counting down to the weekend when The Professor will have finished his first week of teaching this semester. Fridays are good days to evaluate the week, not to wish you'd done more lesson planning but to count blessings and find favorites from the week. That's why I do Friday Fave Fives. 5 I've been plowing ...

It’s been one of those weeks where, upon arriving at Thursday evening, I drew a blank as I meandered the halls of my memory looking for Faves. Thanks to Susanne for making a place to share what we might’ve forgotten or allowed to go unnoted. 2 Summertime smoothies have been so refreshing (you can substitute plain or Greek yogurt for the kefir):. 8230;……. 5 For nearl...

Health concerns seem to be rolling in from all quarters, including Lydia and Flighty. And Snowbird’s sister. 1 Both of my assistants have been stellar, but I’m particularly thankful for the newest one who started only a few months ago. I think I’d be waving a white flag if it weren’t for her and her cheerful helpfulness. Laquo; fff july 24. Thank goodness for havin...
