Sunday Stash…the haul – Smiles Too Loudly
https://smilestooloudly.wordpress.com/2014/05/18/sunday-stash-the-haul
WIPs – The List. Sunday Stash…the haul. May 18, 2014. May 18, 2014. Lately I’ve received my fair share of fabric (ok, maybe a little more), and I thought I’d show it off. Mostly, because my wonderful husband got me a new camera for my birthday.😀 And what else do you photograph to practice but fabric? By no means are these the best images in the world – but, they’re better than fuzzy iPhone photos. Or maybe that’s the birthday cake talking…. Catnap, by the amazing Lizzy House, from Hawthorne Threads.

Little bits, lots of them. May blocks: grace circle, do good stitches. Posted by Laura C. Asymp; 13 Comments. 8220;Gradients” are all the rage these days. Whether you’re sewing, knitting, dyeing Easter eggs, or getting dressed–it’s much more fun to choose colors that are related to each other, of different values, than to go monochromatic. I have a post brewing (oh, it’s been so long! But that’s not all! She’s a master). Joshua at Molli Sparkles has done some gradient geese. That plays with value and the...

Quilters gather in groups to make the load lighter for various reasons: fun, charity, competition, etc. Our bee is, of course, for FUN. All summer I’ve been participating in Beth’s. OK, so we won’t all be in the same room (. But every.month. we will be having that.much.fun. Each month, one participating blogger will become the Queen.

WIPs – The List. Finished Baby Quilt: The first of many. May 20, 2015. May 16, 2015. It seems I have reached that stage in my life where everyone is having a baby. Which leads to an interesting problem — who do you make a baby quilt for? For me, it was a very difficult decision — and huge thanks go to Stephanie. Who talked me off the wall of making everyone a quilt! I got it narrowed down to 4, maybe 5…still a lot of baby quilts to make in a single time frame. Good thing they’re small! I cut apart the pa...

Little bits, lots of them. Finished: snake trail quilt (the cerise beast). Posted by Laura C. Asymp; 31 Comments. As I edit these photos, I’m still not sure quite how this quilt happened. Of course, I’ve wanted to make this quilt since Denyse Schmidt’s book Modern Quilts Traditional Inspiration hit my doorstep a couple of summers ago. I had this FQ bundle of the Flea Market Fancy Legacy reprint–only the second FQ bundle I had ever purchased! I thought about making a fan quilt; Suburbs. No, but I forgot t...

Little bits, lots of them. Finished: single girl baby quilt. Posted by Laura C. Asymp; 28 Comments. Single girl baby quilt. This is a story about a bucket list quilt and two quilters. Who among us hasn’t looked at all the gorgeous Single Girl quilts out there. And felt that potent mix of desire and self-doubt and template loathing? I sewed my first curved blocks, and thought, “maybe not.”. And big striped sweaters. Maybe even make the Elisalex. Big huge curve to piece! Little bitty ol’ quilt! But I was s...
