August 09, 2015. Somehow, He does. It's hard to understand how much the children we saw today have suffered, or the burdens they must carry. I ended up painting rowdy children's faces for a couple of hours and I wondered, between painting flowers (the girls' favourite request) and Spidermen (the boys' favourite) how painting a face can make a lasting difference for a child escaping war or starvation. I'm sitting here watching my sweet girl sleep so soundly (& has been sleeping for four hours) through her first full nap, and am so so thankful we have all made it this far! Time has flown by, yet felt like a standstill one too many times. It has been the hardest two months ever for our family, especially my husband and myself, but we are holding tight to one another and the small sweet moments we find! Ivy at two months.
