http://pathtolivingsimply.blogspot.com/2011/10/meet-girls.html
Path to Living Simply. Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Sookie (yup True Blood fans). Meet the newest members of our family! They look kinda evil in those pictures don't they haha. We are one step closer to our country, homesteading life we dream for. The girls came from my mum's flock and are slowly getting used to being suburban backyard chickens (as opposed to 40 acre farm chickens). And we think we know why. The Doberman (! I know they're only after some tasty veggie scraps but gives me a fuzzy feeling all...

Homesteading Self Sufficient Living Living off the Land. Homemade Udder Balm Recipe. Our milk cow is probably the hardest working member of our homestead. Except for maybe this summer when we remodeled and painted the barn and shop. And built that 1/2 mile of fence. All within a 2 month time span…. then I think WE deserved that title…). Our dear, sweet Oakley not only provides us with all the milk we can drink (and then some…), but she also is nursing not one, but TWO calves. Ok, I’m not saying you...

She likes to sew...: June 2011
http://shelikestosew.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
She likes to sew. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Well THAT didn't take me long! Not long at all, under an hour was all I needed to make myself a skirt! I signed off from that last entry. And set about it. There's not much to say about it - it's 2 rectangles and some elastic. It only took me an hour because I included cutting, ironing and sitting down to ask twitter for recommendations on no-think TV I should watch on the holidays. I didn't need a tutorial for it either! Posted by Nikki Em. Labels: all by myself.

If I am not mistaken it was Marcus Samuelsson who said during one of the Food Network shows “Next Iron Chef” that biscuits come from Poland. (shame on you Samuelsson, shame on you! I don’t actually care much about the name. I like ’em both ways. What I care is that their origin is not Poland – sweet nor savory! Don't have cookie cuter! Turn dough out ont...
