Paint is Swirling in My Brain. June 11, 2010. From left to right: Joan, David, Mike, Lis, Andrew, Casey, and Ken. I think we would all like to say a special thank you to Mike who arrived at the church everyday long before we did to set up, and stayed many nights long after we were gone cleaning up. Mike was the kindest of gentleman and showed us wonderful hospitality. Thank you again Mike for making our time in Dunbar so wonderful. Grace and Peace,. 80 Litres of Paint. Speckles of Dusted Moss. May 30, 2010. Here, in ten pictures, is a glimpse at what we’ve been up to over the last few weeks:. We took the 42 bus to the beach at Portobello (twice). At a lovely party hosted by Andrew and Belinda, we tried Haggis, a traditional Scottish dish that tastes much better than it sounds. We made the journey home from the party with our sweet house mum, Barbara, who knows the way to everywhere and the bus numbers to take you there. What a blessing she's been! From → culture. Finding Thin Places | forthcircuitmission
https://forthcircuitmission.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/finding-thin-places
June 4, 2010. This has led me to think about two other things. First of all, is it possible for us to help others experience thin places, and how can we do that well? For me, this involves remembering that God is here already and the holy spirit is moving. But then asking what are ways that I can help others experience or feel that? I don’t think I have answers for these questions yet, but they’re exciting to think about. Where do those feelings come from – our heads, our hearts, our souls? Wonderful tho...

A Bittersweet Goodbye | forthcircuitmission
https://forthcircuitmission.wordpress.com/2010/08/02/a-bittersweet-goodbye
August 2, 2010. Greetings from the States! We hung out with Rev. Helen and her hubby Colin, who like to laugh. And make us laugh in the process. We led a beautiful service in Rosyth, where the hymnals are arranged so perfectly, I had to take a photo. We cooked a big, fattening American breakfast for our Scottish friends, where we bid farewell to Lis (who left a bit early for her brother's wedding). Oh, and we burned the bacon. Then, we said goodbye to Lis. For now. We hiked down to Bearreraig Bay on the ...

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. June 3, 2010. Walls That’s what the past few days have been about. In a tangible sense, we’ve been painting what seem like endless walls at Dunbar Methodist Church. Big, tall, green walls that we will (fingers crossed! Finish painting tomorrow. We’ve also visited the official (and quite unassuming) border wall that divides Scotland and England. How do they cause division and conflict? How do they foster community? How do walls keep people in? How do they keep people out?

June 20, 2010. What A. Week. When we arrived in Edinburgh over six weeks ago, we really had no idea what might fill our daily schedules. Needless to say, the Circuit folks have found no shortage of things to do, places to be, people to meet, and music to play. And we LOVE it! We are completely exhausted and couldn’t be happier about it. The young rockstars of the Leith Acorn Centre YMCA. Goodnight and cheerio,. PS Happy Father’s Day, Dad!
