September 23, 2016. September 23, 2016. I was up early and pushed Simplicity out from its mooring into the marina basin before starting the engine so as not to wake my neighbours. It’s not a practice I do often as being a pessimist, and a firm believer in ‘Sods Law’ I expect the engine not to start for any number of reasons once I am adrift leaving me ‘up the creek without a paddle’ so to speak. September 28, 2016. After our ‘night out’ it was back to the task of fitting quarts into pint pots. It became increasingly obvious we were not going to fit all Sarah’s cosmetics into a suitcase and would have to get another one. Slowly but surely, we squirrelled away the myriad items into boxes, bags and cases and carted them off to the dinky toy to squeeze them in ready for taking to Adrian’s to store in their loft tomorrow. September 28, 2016. We arrived back at Aqueduct Marina mid morning only to find Simplicity still sitting on the hard standing. The only sign of any work having been done was the offending breather outlet on the outside of the hull had a plate welded over it. They were waiting for a hull fitting to arrive by courier. By the time we had completed the clear out and cleanup, he was still drilling away inside with no sign of a hole appearing on the outside. We were treated to a lovely sunset on our way there.

September 23, 2016. It was more of the same scrubbing and cleaning in the morning but had to stop at midday as I was picked up by a very friendly chap called Brendan from Enterprise Car Rentals. We drove to their office in Crewe where I picked up my rental car, a Hyundai I10. They gave me a 10% birthday discount which was very nice of them. September 24, 2016. I finished painting the hull and started touching up the paintwork on the upper bodywork. Sarah had told me the details of her flight so I got on to Flightradar24 on my iPad to check her progress. For those of a superstitious nature, they say bad things come in threes. I thought about putting the chalk paint on a blank wall we have in the kitchen, but decided to go with just a small area and use the side of our cabinets. I purchased my Rustoleum chalkboard paint. I never knew that you had to condition a chalkboard before. Heck.I didn't even know what conditioning a chalkboard was about! Nope Don't do that.
