How to make it through church with children | simply in faith
https://simplyinfaith.wordpress.com/2014/02/16/how-to-make-it-through-church-with-children
How to make it through church with children. Sitting calmly in one spot, standing on cue, holding a hymnal without letting it become a projectile, going for communion without scaling the rail- do these sound like your goals for your little ones for church? How can an hour (give or take) seem so long sometimes? Now I have four children. My bag is small and mostly holds diapers. I have an emergency snack and treat. The biggest help to having my kids be well behaved (mostly! February 16, 2014. I love that y...
Embrace the excess | simply in faith
https://simplyinfaith.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/26
I have an ideal for most things. Ideal home management. Ideal interactions with friends. With my children. With my husband. Ideal homeschooling. Ideal me. It’s easy to get lost in the ideal. And while lost there, it’s easy to miss out on the real. I think you can pine after the ideal or work to move the real and ideal closer together. It’s my constant goal. If they are far off, it’s time to reevaluate. Why isn’t it working like I want or need? I think we could all seek a little more peace. March 9, 2013.
I’m not that kind of homeschooler | simply in faith
https://simplyinfaith.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/im-not-that-kind-of-homeschooler
I’m not that kind of homeschooler. Homeschooling is in and out of public focus and tends to be represented by extremes. The very religious family that doesn’t watch tv. The radical unschoolers who don’t impose rules on their children. I am not that kind of homeschooler. I’m not even the type of homeschooler I thought I’d be. When I took my first steps down this path I thought I knew the right way because I read a lot of books about it and even some websites. This entry was posted in Homeschooling. Laughi...

Monthly Archives: January 2014. When the type of parent you want to be doesn’t exist. Have you ever followed a big mommy blogger? Someone who has time to do everything you don’t while taking gorgeous pictures, running an ad rich blog, pursuing interests and hobbies, and seems like an all around amazing person? Pinterest and blogs, twitter and Facebook, Instagram… It’s all supposed to inspire and connect us but often seems to do the opposite. People compete, compare, and ultimately fail. January 20, 2014.

Day by Day, at home, away: May 2015
http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Monday, May 25, 2015. Happy Birthday, Lamb 2! I am so glad your birthday is finally here. Now I can say that my boys are 7, 9, 11 instead of saying almost 9 when people ask me how old you are. I know it is difficult to be the last boy's birthday and that even Papa's birthday is before yours. You weren't very patient, but we made it to today. Links to this post. Friday, May 22, 2015. A great day to be homeschooled! The box was heavy for Lamb 1 to hold for a photo. After a couple...

Day by Day, at home, away: Health Insurance
http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015/08/health-insurance.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Our church leaders think CHP is really expensive but I'm not sure they are comparing and remembering what all CHP does. I have been doing lots of research on this because our church leaders do not have as much interest in this as I do since it concerns health care for MY family. I recently came across this chart. I did not know some of these facts about CHP. If an employee is in the CHP for 5 years-If the employee retires early, they can purchase heal...

Day by Day, at home, away. Monday, August 31, 2015. The tale of toilets. On Friday Ram's dad determined that the Lamb bathroom needed a new toilet. (I will explain that in another post.) On Friday they pulled the old toilet (#1) up and went and got some advice of how to install and what kind of toilet to buy. They bought a toilet on Friday. On Sunday they took a break from toilet repair. After 3 full days of toilet repair and 4 full days of not being able to use that bathroom, the Lambs will be able to u...

Day by Day, at home, away: Trip home from Indiana continued
http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/trip-home-from-indiana-continued.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Thursday, July 16, 2015. Trip home from Indiana continued. We had not planned on this stop to tour the Brewery shipping and I don't think the Lambs really appreciated a Brewery tour, but they did enjoy the root beer! We stopped for supper at Chick-fil-A and other than necessary stops the rest of the day was spent driving. We arrived at my cousin's house in NE at about midnight. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/broken-record.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. By the third child I'm not so upset about fillings, especially on baby teeth. We do continue to faithfully brush, floss, and use mouthwash daily. I can't help that they inherited my teeth instead of Ram's teeth. We just do the best we can do. And we're thankful for dental insurance to keep the cost down when dental work is necessary. Day by Day, at home, away: The root of the problem
http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-root-of-problem.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. The root of the problem. You know how when you go to the dentist they ask if you have any teeth that are bothering you? When the dentist came in he looked at my x-rays and that area of my mouth and said he couldn't see anything to be concerned about. Then he did a test where he put cold on that spot. It should hurt for a second and then the pain/cold feeling should go away. On that tooth the pain did not go away after several seconds. The bummer of al...

http://daybydayathomeaway.blogspot.com/2015/07/trip-home-from-in-continued.html
Day by Day, at home, away. Friday, July 17, 2015. Trip home from IN continued. The whole North Platte stop took a long time and was totally unplanned. That meant that it was too late to see our friends in Cheyenne. We had planned a stop to see them and let the kids play for an hour and then going to a hotel in Cheyenne. And VBS began on Monday after that and we all made it on time to that too. Next week I'll begin to blog about what has happened since our trip. Enjoyed following your vacation trip. I hav...

Day by Day, at home, away. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. More about our vacation to Indiana. May 27-We started out by visiting former members at the nursing home. It was a sad visit because many didn't remember us especially because Ram was not dressed like a pastor. We were able to visit the man that gave the Lambs a ride on tractor because he was in the hospital. May 28-This was a long day of traveling. Before we left MN we stopped and bought the Lambs a few new pairs of shoes because MN doesn't have sal...

Day by Day, at home, away. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. More info about our new van next week after our church bazaar. Links to this post. Sunday, October 26, 2014. Lamb 1 during the 3K. I was concerned because he usually runs with someone but he was running all by himself. After Lamb 1's race we had a long time to wait before awards. So the Lambs explored the area. In this picture Lamb 1 is first, then Lamb 2, and finally Lamb 3. They made it to the top! Here's where they explored! All 3 Lambs are looki...

Day by Day, at home, away. Friday, July 24, 2015. And For All the Saints. Thank you so much to Higher Things for the Live Stream. Lamb 1 is excited about going to Higher Things next year. We already have a meeting at church planned for next Sunday to start fundraising and planning! And Lamb 3's first filling. 5 The Lambs begin two weeks of swim lessons next week. I'm looking forward to seeing how Lamb 2 does this year after his nose surgery last year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Keeping Rev. ...

Simply In Eden | Life can be simple, but it is not easy!
Life can be simple, but it is not easy! Me in a “Nut Shell”. Welcome friend to a new place to connect with me! Iguazu Falls- amazing experience! Nothing better than enjoying life with your best friend! Third day off in a row I was getting anxious. The impulsive part of me was going crazy. It was mid-January the time of year where most businesses were naturally slow. I was used to getting my usual three days off. I already biked in ice conditions to walk my friend’s dog, she hurt her []. Your place is so ...
