Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Rachael and the rest of her Winter Guard group unfolded their floor to use it for the first time and found this. The paint had peeled off of the floor. DISASTER! So after a little bit of debate about what needed to be done to fix the floor. This is what we did. Down on our hands and knees peeling all of the WHITE paint off of the floor. Next the white area of the floor got a light sanding and the painting began again. Sunday, January 22, 2012. So Glad We Could Help! It is a bea...

Monday, August 22, 2011. The American Fork High School Marching Band and Color Guard gets away for four days every year to work on their field show. The guard is big enough that they get a whole bus to themselves. And off they go . . . . I took a day off of work and went there to help, watch, take pictures, and enjoy the camaraderie. The friendship developed there are not only among the Band Mom's and Dad's who give of their time to help the kids. Thursday, August 18, 2011. WHAT A FUN RACE! Richard and R...

Saturday, October 29, 2011. We went to Sunny St George for the Red Rocks Invitational Marching Band State Championship. It was a beautiful weekend, the weather was wonderful. We dropped Rachael off at the school to ride the buses to St George and Richard and I began our drive to St George. We got there and helped to mark a soccer field for the kids to practice on. Yes, that is Richard drawing lines on the field. The kids arrived and practice began. First the warm ups. And the show begins. Thank you, to m...

Sunday, November 27, 2011. We weer invited to the TROP home to make gingerbread houses. I have tried to make them before, but can't seem to make them stay together. Well Kim Trop knows how to make gingerbread houses. She baked all of the pieces, and had them cut out for us. She made the frosting to stick the pieces together and frosting to put the candy on. A CLEAN SLATE - where to start? Richard and Rachael figuring it out. We are really making progress. The master making it happen! The pit always comes...

Thursday, February 10, 2011. That's all I can say - WOW! After 3 months of practicing, early mornings (Guard practice starts at 6:00am on "A" days), too many to count "Guard Camps" - the day finally arrived. The first Winter Guard competition of the year. I take my Digital SLR camera and take pictures of all of our groups and then have posted them onto my facebook account, then the Guard Directors can access them for their guard kids. I enjoy using my camera and sharing the pictures. Here is the show and...

Saturday, December 31, 2011. The FINAL FIELD SHOW Performance 2011. The fire department and military were honored at the opening ceremonies, so we had a flyover of fire department helicopters. Band Dad's, Mom's, brother's, and sister's help to get the band all onto the field. Thank you, Ryan and Tammy for coming to watch Rachael and her band perform today. The Making of a Rose Parade Float. What a beautiful bouquet of roses! I wonder how they are able to color them so that theyare half red and half white?
