Sunday, June 29, 2014. Well as many of you are aware, I have been preparing for the Mt. Whitney hike for several months and I can happily say I did it! The total hike distance was 22 miles with over 6,000' of elevation gain over two days. It was an amazing hike with excellent weather and fantastic views. We made our dinner of dehydrated food then settled in for a cool night with temperatures that dropped below freezing. Friday, February 13, 2015. We had a nice Christmas this year. The DeLeeuw's decided a few days before Christmas to come to Utah. It was a joy to have them with us. Christmas is more enjoyable when there are little ones. It is fun to watch their excitement on Christmas morning. . Checking out Alex's new stuffed animal while we waited for everyone to get up. Her favorite spot is always on something you don't want her on. This is a picture of our newest granddaughter, Mollie Mae who was born in October. To celebrate we dropped the girls off at Tyler's parents' house, and we spent the night in Salt Lake. We stayed at the Inn on the Hill, the same bed and breakfast we stayed at last year, this time minus Mollie. We played pool, and I won. only one game. Our room had a cool little semi-private porch. We started the day by watching the Layton parade. They handed out popsicles in the parade, and everyone had fun enjoying the cold treat getting all sticky!
