Saint Hilda's – Crofton Park SE4. Parish of Saint Hilda with Saint Cyprian, Crofton Park SE4. The Vicars of St Hilda’s. CHURCH TOWARDS THE EAST. The chancel wall and gates were removed in the 1970s. Note the chairs arranged in the widely spaced aisles as originally designed. This was a particular feature of the church as designed. However the design had not allowed good views of the high altar from the side aisles and so the chairs were later moved to a more central position. EAST END AND TOWER 1936.
