Twisted and purled (nyc). Knitting. Food. Dogs. New Year’s Intention #3: Spin (and Knit) The Aussie Fiber. January 25, 2015. And, I’ve come to realize that I may have a bit of a “thing” about Australian sheep and Australian dyers. Here’s what I mean. I recently had a chance to get my hands (well, and purchase) this.

Thistle Talk- and compulsive obsessions about naturally dyed fibers. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. As I mentioned, I'm having fun making some new sachets. While procrastinating about something else, I made this one:. I found the basis for it in book that details methods of construction for Celtic Knotwork panels of the Pictish School. Pretty fascinating design stuff! They are both now listed in my Etsy shop- link on the right hand side of the page. Monday, January 10, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thistle Talk- and compulsive obsessions about naturally dyed fibers. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Where have I been? I just can't say, but obviously not here. My hands have certainly been occupied, but not on the keyboard. I made an appearance for the Annual Historic Seattle Bungalow Fair, and I will. Post some photos the new designs I showed there. But not today. It was nice to be back at the show, and see many folks I so love talking with. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Natural Dyes related sites.

Thistle Talk- and compulsive obsessions about naturally dyed fibers. Sunday, January 12, 2014. New Year brings Changes. After more than 15 years I'm ready for a change. Sometime within the next month or so I am, for the most part, shutting down Thistle Handwerks and the website. It's been a ride; a good one, a challenging one, and a learning one. I worked with and met so many fascinating people, dedicated to finding period textiles for their homes and businesses. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Our super busy spring is in full swing now. I can’t remember the last time my weekends we’re so full! Recently my mom, the girls, and I all headed up to San Jose for Stitches West. A lot of my knitting friends head to Rhinebeck in the fall, but my group on the West Coast heads to Stitches instead. Usually I spend more time at the event itself, but this year I spent more time with my family because my sister is getting married! I started planning this sweater in the fall of 2015. I knit a baby dress.
