SINGAPOREAN IN KOREA

Thursday, 3 November 2011. Some thoughts and ramblings. Well, reading posts, and sometimes the random comments again, makes me feel like it's time to update. Nothing really exciting has happened since my last post, although I did what most Singaporeans won't do. travel by ship to China via Korea. With airfares that are not as expensive as before, why did I choose to do that then? It was insane yet exhilarating! I went to Beijing. I went to the Forbidden City and I climbed the Great Wall of China....Osaka...

SINGAPOREAN IN KOREA: March 2011

http://singaporeaninkorea.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, 17 March 2011. Day 7: I Did It! I just sent in my application to Big Hit Entertainment like 5 minutes ago, around 9.30pm, 17 March 2011. I applied for Overseas Business/Fan Management. My bilingualism should come in handy for these two areas. Whatever it is, I have done something about it instead of just talking about it. So to me, that's a big step. When I got out of the mall after dinner, the sun was setting and I thought this was really pretty. I was in the Jamsil area after that. I reme...

SINGAPOREAN IN KOREA: Traveling to Korea: Practical Tips for Planning a Trip to Korea: Accommodation

http://singaporeaninkorea.blogspot.com/2011/04/traveling-to-korea-practical-tips-for.html

Thursday, 28 April 2011. Traveling to Korea: Practical Tips for Planning a Trip to Korea: Accommodation. The other day, I was on the phone with my friend who just flew to Korea for a holiday with her family. The whole family was staying at a hotel in Gangnam for the Seoul leg of their tour, which was part of their tour package. They are extending their stay for a few more days and will stay in another hotel in Gangnam. A few reasons why I would suggest choosing a hostel over a hotel. And I'm saying t...

SINGAPOREAN IN KOREA: When 'Good Enough' Is No Longer Enough

http://singaporeaninkorea.blogspot.com/2011/06/when-good-enough-is-no-longer-enough.html

Sunday, 12 June 2011. When 'Good Enough' Is No Longer Enough. I met with Jin with Tako today at The Famous Lamb. She actually came across my blog while searching for opportunities in Singapore and Hong Kong. And between me and Tako, we kind of represent Singapore and Hong Kong. Life works in a way that you can't really decipher, nor can you fully understand. Thus the title for this post. How far away from your initial answer are you now? And in return, I'm going to ask the same people who asked me to sto...

SINGAPOREAN IN KOREA: "The Scent Of A Woman" - No Unlimited Tomorrows

http://singaporeaninkorea.blogspot.com/2011/08/scent-of-woman-no-unlimited-tomorrows.html

Tuesday, 9 August 2011. The Scent Of A Woman" - No Unlimited Tomorrows. I started watching "The Scent Of A Woman" last night. Well, it was loaded but I didn't really hit the 'Play' button. So I got bored last night and decided to watch it seriously. And honestly, while I cry easily, the plight that the female lead really made me cry and think. SPOILER* (In case you want to watch the show). Am I being stupid? You either freaking swim or you just give in and die. We live without a stopwatch above our h...

Singaporean Investor

Saturday, June 2, 2012. Cost of living in the United Kingdom-Food. Food to me is quite compartmentalized: Eating in at home, Eating out routinely (fast food, hawker food), Eating out at restaurants for occasions and really atas (high class) restaurants reserved for the very special occasion. Eating in at home/Cooking for lunch is cheaper in the UK. Eating out routinely is more expensive and restaurant wise, the prices are thereabouts. With groceries being cheaper, you'd expect that eating in is cheaper.

Whole Foods Market (WFM). Stock at Whole Foods Market (WFM) have drifted towards the $30 mark. WFM has a soft spot in my heart. When I was living in the USA, I bought all my meat from WFM and it tasted so good! Peridot Capital has argued their thesis in several posts which I have linked to before. One part of their argument that I find unique is that same store sales have fallen because WFM has opened so many new stores that they are cannibalizing each other. That makes intuitive sense but same s...The M...

Singaporean iPad, iPhone and Android Blog

Singaporean iPad, iPhone and Android Blog. A gadget blog from the little red dot. Tuesday, December 2, 2014. I attended the 2014 International Sound and Sight Exhibition held at the Parkroyal on Kitchener Road on 30th Nov. The turn-out was pretty good even on the third and last day of the Exhibition, even with the $15 entry fee which includes a free sample CD and a glass of red wine. Yamaha had some good speakers like the LSX-170 which produces good sound as well as lighting at a price of $549. The monks...
