Festering times: July 2014
http://penole.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 30 July 2014. Plan A had been a hard working day on the house then three days off. So anyway 3 days later. We had a broadly lovely time but the hard work and heat left us exhausted, the super powerful shower was getting used lots and lots of times. Often two showers a day per person. The leaving care team are champing at the bit to pull his placement and drag him back to Daycastle and stick him in a hostel. He seems to think that if he pretends it's not happening then it won't. Being a parent ...

Sunday, 16 November 2014. Fostering can be a long slog sometimes. Quite often you work away at something for years then nothing happens. Sometimes the result of lots of work is seen a long time after you did it thinking nothing was going on. Contrast that with some of our other fosling who are very strong believers in work. They believe everyone should work and work hard, otherwise where would the money for their dole come from? Do we think she would be strong enough to cope back there, and not get drawn...

Festering times: Screwing the world down
http://penole.blogspot.com/2015/07/screwing-world-down.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. Screwing the world down. It's safe to say this because only me and MI5 will ever read it but this world has gone beyond. The bankers screwed up so the poor must pay for their mistakes. Greece got itself into a corner with the total collusion of a bunch of private banks, who have now had their debt taken into public ownership so tax payers everywhere will have to fund the cock up while the banks carry on and pay next to no tax. I am sure there is a logic in this. No, not simplistic.

Tuesday, 6 January 2015. With Branwen and i both defrosted it was time to try and get the satelite located. Call in an expert, down the drive came my mate Dai. simple solution says he, we were 180 degrees out looking for the Sattelite. Ok then, off came the dish out came the chainsaw. Cut a mounting plate on the other side screw everything on and connect the meter. Darkness fell, this was not funny and it was cold. Soo off we went, beer o clock. Into the house and - nothing at the set box. no signal.

Sunday, 19 January 2014. Of cats and dogs. You have to recognize Cats and Dogs are very different psychological entities. The cat being a bit of a self contained individual hunter and dogs being pack animals working in a pack whit a definite hierarchy. Lez Barker very wisely noted that cats like this master servant thing, just not that way round. Dogs on the other hand can be shown who is boss and they damn well need to be too. Bethan has invented a new sport, I'm sure you have heard of Bog snorkeling, B...

Festering times: October 2014

Sunday, 26 October 2014. Rayburn and she's happy. Some of our colonial friends won't know what a rayburn is so, for them. A rayburn is about 250 kg of cast iron and fire brick that can be used to heat your house, heat your water and heat your food. Ours only heats the kitchen and serves as a cooker. The idea is that you use a small amount of fuel, the heat goes into the heavy casting and fire brick and takes a long time to cool. Maybe winter is not so bad after all. You mean there's more? We do of course...

We well OK the management has managed all the presants, it's all under the tree and it's not yet 9 pm, a normal Xmas would be a 2 am rush of parcels and paper.
