In 1791, Alexis and Victoire de Méjanès along with several other faith-filled persons, began to form a community in Argancy, France, centered on the Incarnation of the Son of God. Over the years, the Sisters of St. Chretienne have experienced the support and collaboration of many family members and co-workers with whom they have shared love, compassion, prayer and their charism.

We minister in the United States in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Kentucky and Florida. Because we are a small congregation we are in close contact with our Sisters in Canada, France. Austria and Hungary and especially with our missionaries in Alberta, Canada. And in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania, in Africa.

The novices and postulants are in Butare and we have a dispensary/clinic in Bungwe. We have been in this strife-ridden country since the 1970s.
