By susan h robbins. The way I walked when I was five. As fast as I could go . . . to make myself whole. Then I lost it - my way to walk - I believe I was seven. Left it among the hush of childhood offense in a box or in a closet. Or was it in the bed. There were others in houses across the way. Who had buried theirs deep. Beneath their garden beds. I was sure of this. Because I would sit, legs crossed, on my front porch. Through mute afternoons watching their strides. Not one circle did I see in our minds.
