Saturday, May 27, 2006. Job hunting, part deux. To be fair to the company, they have offered the sale of the truck to Dan first, but if they can't find enough work to make it lucrative for them, what makes them think we would do better? So, Dan now has to look for other employment opportunities, and it gets harder because he is making such good money now. How will he be able to find a job that pays as well? Without the bladder management business. And the baton will be passed to me. My challenge will...

http://viewfromthetenthlevel.blogspot.com/2010/02/waiter-theres-chicken-in-my-yard.html
Monday, February 22, 2010. Waiter, there's a chicken in my yard! We've had rain here for weeks on end. And where there was a small break, it was during the week when Dan and I were at work. As a result, the grass grew. and grew. and grew. It got to be bad enough that I was reluctant to walk across the lawn for fear of what would be hiding in the grass. Snakes? Wombats are cute critters but apparently, very ornery and they like to bite.). No more hiding places for scary things! And the more we looked, the...

Sunday, June 06, 2010. After a run of nearly five years or so, I've decided to retire my blog and turn to other things. My life is about to get a little crazy, leaving not much time for blogging, lingerie modeling, or much else. I'll be leaving this up for a while, for posterity, of course. It's been fun and no doubt, somewhere down the line, I'll have a new blog. Be sure to look me up. Posted by Melanie O. at 6:01 PM. I hope whatever the new project is, that its all you want it to be! Brought to you by.

http://viewfromthetenthlevel.blogspot.com/2010/02/another-valentines-day.html
Sunday, February 14, 2010. I usually don't look forward to Valentine's Day. It's one of those contrived holidays used to sell cards, flowers and chocolates to mostly men who get guilted into feeling that they haven't shown their love for their partner enough in the past year. I like celebrating Girlfriends' Day instead. I wasn't expecting anything, except perhaps a rose cut from one of my bushes, presented this morning with a cup of tea. Now I feel ashamed that I doubted Dan. Labels: Chinese New Year.

Monday, March 29, 2010. The black hole of redecorating. To make up for it, the second best thing was to start redecorating. I've always loved Mid-Century Modern decor. Enough to be nostalgic and fun. I've done almost all of my redecorating via eBay and have been able to get teak and teak veneer furniture for a song. I've purchased vintage barkcloth curtains and funky mid-century china as well as my starburst clock. No more books stacked on my nightstand! No more DVDs on wire baker's racks! Youre so funny...

Monday, March 08, 2010. People often ask me why I'm usually in a good mood, even keeled - unflappable even. The secret? I enjoy simple pleasures and try to look for them every day. Simple pleasures make every day a good day. Sometimes, my simple pleasure is a good cup of cappuccino, seeing my roses in bloom, or receiving a compliment on my shoes. It can be a smile and hello from a complete stranger. Or finding an email from a friend or family member in my Inbox. Posted by Melanie O. at 2:25 PM. Female, A...

Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Not another bad show! Yes, Crave was not what I had hoped it would be. The venue was super hip, the lighting was good (which I had not expected), I got a table with a nice black drape, the other vendors were nice, everything was in play for this to be a really great show. However. And get some holiday shopping done! Posted by kimono hime @ 2:37 PM. Monday, November 27, 2006. Not bad, eh? Posted by kimono hime @ 7:24 PM. I talked t...

Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Sunday, February 12, 2006. It's 1 am. and don't want to go to bed. But I am tired. Got to wear full kimono gear for the second Saturday in a row. In my tiny little conservative resort town. In winter. But it was sooooo fun. A Japanese woman in line at the grocery store was very amused. I smiled and told her she still looked more Japanese than I did. I'm impatiently waiting for 3 packages from Japan right now. One new kimono (blue! Oregon, United States. Help ...

Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Monday, October 30, 2006. Bad case of the Mondays. I didn't meet my Sunday goal of 5 new clutches. Bad me. I didn't even finish one. The design is giving me fits, but I hope to have it worked out soon. It looks so simple! But alas, it is not. Since Word Imp asked, no, I'm not Japanese. I'm a blonde haired, blue eyed girl from Northern California, originally. You can see what I do on the Kimono Momo. Posted by kimono hime @ 7:52 AM. Saturday, October 28, 2006.

http://midnightnoise.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Thursday, September 28, 2006. I got fired from my third part time job of the year on Monday. I can't remember the last time I felt so good. Giddy, in fact. I liked the job, the people, everything about it (well, almost everything). So why am I so happy? Why do I bounce out of bed these days? Because I'm back to doing what I've done since I was 17: I'm working for myself. And I love. And I only have to worry about looking decent when I go out to the post offic...
