In my experience, they don't have the staying power to see you through a month, let alone a full year. So you won't hear me vowing to lose weight or exercise more- at least not on January 1st. What I will do is declare my business goals for 2010. By making them public, I make myself accountable for honouring them and increase my chances of meeting them by the end of the year.
