Baby Steps to a Fitter Me. Sunday, September 9, 2012. September 9, 2012 – Day 3 of the 1000 Mile Challenge. We were given a new couch by a friend so after the morning workout, I moved the old couch, loveseat and tables around to make room for the new piece. Naturally I had to vacuum where the old furniture sat which led to just vacuuming the whole room. Then I maneuvered everything back into place. I must admit, I was breathing hard but it felt pretty good. So here’s how it breaks down:. Me at the Start.

Baby Steps to a Fitter Me. Saturday, July 30, 2011. N Is for New. I think I need a new. Scale I know in the early days of following a low carb diet you can see some significant weight loss but my scale said 249 this morning. I tried it three times to be sure. I just don’t feel as if I’ve lost 6 lbs. since Monday and usually I can feel that kind of weight loss. Oh well, I am not going to obsess about it. Yesterday morning I made a new. Sausage and Egg Muffins. 6 oz Ital. sausage. 1/8 cup heavy cream.

I had an issue with eyes that kept me from being able to do much for a couple of days and I’ve given up soda. Fortunately, there were no tears and they explained to me how things like this are more common as we age, particularly as we cross the 50 year mark. Great, something my body has to be right on time for! That doesn’t sound like much but even a...

Gettin' Fit in My Fifties: In The Beginning
https://fitinmy50s.blogspot.com/p/in-beginning.html
Gettin' Fit in My Fifties. Here it is, I'm going on record with how I. Am going to get fit in my fifties. Where I am now. 55 years old. Fat. And unfit. As a retired Marine, it pains me to say that, but there it is. Cheated and the addiction came back with a vengeance, and I ended up gaining back just about everything I'd lost. Where I want to be. I'm going to chronic...

Gettin' Fit in My Fifties. Thursday, April 28, 2016. My Favorite Bluetooth Wireless Headphones for Running. My new favorite headphones. Since I started running in recent months, I've found several tools of the trade, so to speak, that have made my life on the road. Could wireless earbuds be the solution? Would I need to call my son 600 miles away and have him walk me through it? Bandana, and water bottle - ready to grab on my way out the door. Magnetic earbuds tucked into the receiver. I completed my sec...

Gettin' Fit in My Fifties: Dump Ranch Dressing, First Attempt
https://fitinmy50s.blogspot.com/2016/01/dump-ranch-dressing-first-attempt.html
Gettin' Fit in My Fifties. Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Dump Ranch Dressing, First Attempt. Arrived this morning so I immediately grabbed what I needed to make Dump Ranch dressing. Without it, I've been having a hard time finding the fat required with my meals when following Whole30 so I've been anxious to try it. This Dump Ranch recipe. Uses olive oil and coconut milk, both compliant fats on Whole30, so if I use this in salad or as a sauce over vegetables, I'll meet my fat requirements easily. Sounds good&...

Gettin' Fit in My Fifties. Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Bored walking on the treadmill? Not since I got my Kindle holder! It got better when I got these awesome in-ear headphones or earbuds. Although I swore I never wanted a Kindle, much preferring to turn the actual pages of a book, I broke down and ordered the Kindle Fire. When the weather turned much colder and now that there's snow added to the mix, much of my walking is indoors. To keep from going batty, I needed to find a shelf or holder so I c...

Gettin' Fit in My Fifties: Ghee, it's not so hard to make after all!
https://fitinmy50s.blogspot.com/2016/01/ghee-its-not-so-hard-to-make-after-all.html
Gettin' Fit in My Fifties. Thursday, January 7, 2016. Ghee, it's not so hard to make after all! My biggest problem with the Whole30 program is still getting enough fat into my meals. Sounds like a good problem to have, right? I'd have made it earlier this week when I started the plan, but I didn't have anything to strain the milk solids out of the butter with. They say you can use cheesecloth, but I didn't have any, so I ordered these nut milk bags from amazon. So here's how to make your own ghee. It mig...
