SJF Holy Land 2010. Sunday, October 31, 2010. The Death and Rebirth of Christianity in the Holy Land. Saladin attack on Christianity and its eventual revival. While we were up north near Tiberias, we saw a mound that Saladin had used to lure the crusaders in and deliver them a significant defeat. He did it by poisoning the water supply so they were thirsty and then lit bonfires with green vegetation to cut down their visibility. After doing these two things, he was able to overwhelm them.
